Description[]
Appearance[]
The Particle Accelerator is a white horseshoe-shaped handheld device fitted with a grey grip in the middle and five small crystals. Dr. Eggman described it with a small scratch on its left side. It is made from polished titanium.[1]
Features and abilities[]
When used, the Particle Accelerator accelerates the wielders' particles, giving the users a purple aura and allowing someone like Metal Sonic to gain a significant boost in power for an extended period of time. It can also fire red laser beams.[1]
History[]
TV series[]
Past[]
The Particle Accelerator was created by Dr. Eggman while he was at summer camp.[2]
Season one[]
Eventually, Dr. Eggman used the Particle Accelerator for a scam by having Metal Sonic steal the device and then frame Sonic as the culprit. When Sonic found Metal Sonic though, the robot used the Particle Accelerator to empower himself. After hitting the device with a horseshoe during their battle however, Sonic made the Particle Accelerator overload Metal Sonic until he blew up. Sonic then returned the device to Eggman.[1]
Season two[]
When Dr. Eggman was in need of money, he thought about selling his Particle Accelerator, but was unable to part with it.[2]
Trivia[]
- In real-life, particle accelerators are machines that use electromagnetic fields to propel charged particles to high speeds and to contain them in well-defined beams.
