Paramount Pictures Corporation is an American film studio and a subsidiary of Paramount Global (previously ViacomCBS before 16 February 2022) founded on 8 May 1912. Based in Hollywood, California, they are the producers of the Sonic the Hedgehog film series and its spin-offs. They were as well once a subsidiary of Gulf and Western Industries, alongside Sega, from 1969 to 1983. Paramount has held the live-action media rights to the Sonic the Hedgehog series since October 2017.[1]
