Papercraft Mania Adventures (also known as Sonic Mania Adventures: Papercraft Edition) is a 2D cartoon animated series that was released for free on YouTube over the course of 2019. The series serves as a spin-off of Sonic Mania Adventures, involving the same cast of characters. The main difference is that instead of being traditionally animated, it is instead animated in stop motion and has the look of construction paper. Like it's predecessor, every episode is conveyed without dialogue.

Plot

The series begins during the wintertime on Angel Island, and a snow-sculpting contest is being held. There are three teams. Team 1 is Mighty and Ray, Team 2 is Sonic and Tails, and Team 3 is Knuckles and Amy. Mighty is seen rolling the snowball into place, with Ray, whilst gliding, puts on the other two balls of snow before finally applying the face. The two then fist bump at the sight of their completely snowman. Sonic, doing a Super Peel Out, puts their snow structure into shape, with Tails then using his two tails to clear a hole in it, making it take the form of a Ring. Knuckles thinks for a moment before getting an idea. He punches the block of snow into the shape of the Master Emerald. Amy, who is unimpressed by it, gives it a thumbs down before pulling out her Piko Piko Hammer and smashes the snow Master Emerald into a sculpture of Sonic, much to Knuckles' frustration. The three teams marvel at their structures, but when Sonic sees the snow sculpture of himself Amy made, he hurriedly runs off.

Sometime later, On the outskirts of the jungles of Angel Island, Sonic encounters Dr. Eggman, hastily disguised as salesman. Despite this, Sonic doesn't seem to recognize the doctor and takes notice of the "salesman" hosting a Valentine’s Sale on jewelry which is rings that appear to have the Chaos Emeralds on top.

The thought of having the ability to turn into Super Sonic rushes into the hedgehog's mind and he quickly snatches the rings with the "salesman" casually waving him off. Sonic then races past Knuckles, who was sleeping on hammock. Realizing what the blue hedgehog has, he snaps awake and tries to take the ring any gliding over him and snatching them, but Sonic takes them right back.

Amy is then shown walking along the beach and sees Sonic racing toward her with the rings, with her assuming that Sonic's going to propose to her. Sonic, quickly realizing the same thought, immediately throws the rings to Knuckles. Whilst Knuckles is celebrating, Sonic bumps into him, making the echidna drop the rings in the water, inadvertently that Chaos Emeralds on top of the rings were fake.

Amy takes notice of this and gives a sulking Knuckles her Piko Piko Hammer. Knuckles returns to the stand where a scared Dr. Eggman immediately runs off while Knuckles smashes the stand to pieces before casually placing an "Out of Buisness" sign on top of the rubble.

Trivia

• The look and animation of Papercraft Mania Adventures is reminiscent of the adult animated series, South Park.
  • It is also so far, the only series to have this animation style.
