Pachacamac (Archie)

Template:Character Chief Pachacamac is a fictional character in the Sonic the Hedgehog and its spin-offs comic book series published by Archie Comics. He was the leader of the Knuckles Clan, and the father of Tikal. During the second Echidna colonization attempt, Pachacamac let his clan against the Felidae and later the Nocturnus Clan for control over their settlement in Soumerca. He was eventually killed by Chaos when he incurred the wrath of the creature by attempting to take the Chaos Emeralds to turn the tide of the war.

History

Discovering New Lands

Pachacamac was the leader of the caste of warriors from Albion, known as the Knuckles Clan, which escorted groups of scientists and intellectuals from Albion during the echidnas' second colonization attempt to explore Mobius and spread echidna culture. Eventually, the voyagers arrived in Soumerca, where they made their settlement in Pais Misterioso, but soon found themselves at odds with the native Felidae. With the Knuckles Clan backing him up him, Pachacamac opted to stay and defend their settlement with support from the advance scientist caste, the Nocturnus Clan. However, the majority refused such bloodshed and departed for other regions, leaving Pachacamac furious about this "betrayal."

During the initial war with the Felidae, the Knuckles Clan fought alongside the Nocturnus Clan. Shortly after dedicating themselves to the fight, however, a rift opened between Pachacamac and the Nocturnus Clan's leader, Pir'Oth Ix, as their ideological differences caused them to clash. This resulted in Pachacamac declaring war on the Nocturnus Clan as well. Adopting a more rustic approach, Pachacamac proclaimed himself Chief of the Knuckles Clan, and led his clan down a reactionary path with focus on warfare in a three-way between the Knuckles Clan, the Nocturnus Clan and the Felidae.

At point during the war, Pachacamac accompanied his daughter Tikal when they discovered the Mystic Ruins, along with the Chao Garden that was supported by seven Chaos Emeralds where Chao resided. Before he could evaluate their discovery though, Pachacamac received a message from his scouts about the Felidaes' activities, and he ordered Tikal to say at the ruins while he rounded up his troops for battle.

As the Knuckles Clan became overwhelmed by both the Felidae and their constant attacks, and the Nocturnus Clan and their much more advanced technology, Pachacamac sought the seven Chaos Emeralds at the Chao Garden to turn the tides of the war.When Pachacamac and his men attempted to take the Emeralds by force, however, he was opposed by Tikal and the Chao, who wanted no part in the conflict. Believing his way to be right as it was for the good of their people, Pachacamac ignored Tikal's warnings and had his men attack the Chao Garden, trampling over Tikal and the Chao, enraging their protector, Chaos. Chaos then absorbed the Chaos Emeralds' power and used it to wipe out the entire Knuckles Clan, Pachacamac included. Tikal, as the sole survivor, managed to stop Chaos from continuing his rampage across the planet by trapping herself and Chaos within the Black Emerald.
