Ozzie[1] is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog film series produced by Paramount Pictures and its spin-offs. He is a Golden Retriever and the pet of Tom and Maddie Wachowski, whom the former claims to be his best animal friend.
Appearance
Ozzie is a regular-looking dog of the Golden Retriever breed. As such, he possesses golden fur. He also has a black nose, droopy ears, and brown eyes. For attire, he wears a brown collar with a silver buckle and a bone-shaped tag.
History
Film series
Sonic the Hedgehog
When Tom came home from work in Green Hills, Ozzie happily greeted his master. Soon after, he came with Maddie to stay with Rachel while Maddie looked for apartments in San Francisco.

When Tom showed up at Rachel's house with someome wrapped in a blanket, Ozzie sensed an unconscious Sonic underneath the blanket. Curious, Ozzie tugged at the blanket until it fell off and Sonic was revealed to Maddie, Rachel and Jojo. After Sonic recovered, he met Ozzie face-to-face and noted that he did not see the appeal Tom had for him. Regardless, Ozzie would lick Sonic with affection. After Sonic, Tom and Maddie then left for the Transamerica Pyramid, Ozzie would remain in Rachel's house, amusedly observing a playful Jojo ignoring her mother's pleas to release her.
After returning to Green Hills, Ozzie would enter Sonic's new room in the Wachowski house's attic. Although Sonic tried ordering him to leave, Ozzie would shower him with affectionate licks until he relented.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2
After Sonic returned to the house from fighting crime, Ozzie woke him up by licking him, even though Sonic did not want to wake up. As Maddie reminded Sonic that he promised to meet up with Tom, Ozzie pulled Sonic's blanket off of him, causing the hedgehog to fall to the floor. Later on, Ozzie and Sonic saw Tom and Maddie off as they went to Hawaii for Rachel's wedding. Ozzie endured Sonic's antics around the house for the entire day, such as him changing their hair styles and filling the house with foam. The duo eventually sat on the couch to watch movies until the power went out. Sonic attempted to tell horror stories to Ozzie, only for the dog to scurry off in fear.
Days later, Ozzie went with Tom, Maddie, Sonic, and the new members of the group, Miles "Tails" Prower and Knuckles the Echidna, to a baseball field to play, and met up with Maddie before heading to the truck to go for some ice cream.

After Sonic moved in with the Wachowskis, Ozzie would be given table scraps from Sonic.[2]
One day, when Ozzie caught Sonic leaving the Wachowski house in order to socialize in spite of Maddie's wishes, Sonic told Ozzie to keep it a secret, or he would no longer feed him table scraps.[2]
Personality
True to his breed, Ozzie is a very loyal, friendly, and affectionate dog. He is always happy to be with his loved ones, and eagerly greets them upon arrival. He likewise took an immediate liking to Sonic, and licks him whenever he gets the chance. However, he still possesses some protective instincts, prompting him to react aggressively to what could be a potential threat to his owners.
Powers and abilities
Ozzie has an acute sense of smell and other strong animal senses, being able to detect a foreigner that Tom had concealed under a blanket.
