Past[]

After Dr. Eggman disappeared following the Eggman War, Orbot welcomed Neo Metal Sonic as the new head of the Eggman Empire until further notice.[2]

At some point after Dr. Eggman disappeared, Orbot and Cubot were discovered in Eggman's last known lab by the Chaotix, who were tracking Eggman. Although the two robots were cooperative when the Chaotix interrogated them, they knew nothing about Eggman's whereabouts.[3]

Fallout![]

Orbot reassures Neo

Orbot speaks with Neo Metal Sonic, from Sonic the Hedgehog #2.

In a secret base, Orbot and Cubot met up with Neo Metal Sonic, who was currently controlling the Badnik hordes. There, Orbot revealed in his report that Sonic was heading towards Rough and Tumble.[4]

The Fate of Dr. Eggman[]

Some time after, Orbot went over the preparations Neo Metal Sonic had made for the next stage of his master plan before being order to signal Neo Metal Sonic's flagship.[5]

Battle For Angel Island[]

Later on, Orbot and Cubot joined Dr. Starline, Rough and Tumble in the Final Egg, where Starline sought to restore Dr. Eggman's memories after he lost them following the end of the Eggman War and became a reformed handyman. After three sessions however, Eggman showed no signs of returning to his previous personality. When Starline suggested a mental trigger, Orbot tried suggesting to Eggman to review eldritch creatures he may want to resurrect and later lose control over. Eggman only dismissed this, leaving Orbot to wonder if he wanted Eggman to actually have his memories restored. Soon, the group was met by a badly damaged Metal Sonic. Upon seeing Metal Sonic, Eggman regained his memories, much to Orbot's slight disappointment. Eggman then ordered him and Cubot to get him a change of clothes. Some time after, Eggman got Orbot to call up the schematics on the Metal Virus which he wished to unleash on the world as revenge for his latest indignity.[6]

Infection[]

After assisting Dr. Eggman in preparing some backpacks loaded with the Metal Virus, Orbot came with Eggman as he went to meet with Rough and Tumble in the hangar. There, Orbot helped Cubot back on his feet after he got kicked around by Rough while Eggman gave the two mercenaries the Metal Virus backpacks (which he said were "back-ups" to use against Sonic). Orbot then saw Eggman present the mercenaries with a tank to attack Sonic and Amy with in Echo Mine.[7] When the Faceship was later finished, Orbot and Cubot got onboard it with Dr. Eggman and Dr. Starline, where Orbot launched the Faceship on Eggman's command with Cubot's assistance. With all systems stable, Orbot reported that they were moving towards their first target: Windmill Village. Arriving over the drop zone, Orbot reported back to Eggman, who had his first Metal Virus batch dowsed on the village.[8]

Crisis City[]

After Dr. Eggman created a Zombot outbreak in Floral Forest Village, Orbot showed Eggman with an analysis sheet that there had been a steady decline in Zombots responding to his commands when the Zombot horde did not obey Eggman's orders to attack Sonic when he arrived in the village. After a short argument with Eggman, Starline, who had had his confidence in his idol shaken, confided in Orbot his second thoughts over Eggman's inability to plan for the long-term. Orbot replied that it was always fifty-fifty for the doctor, with the usual routine beginning with Eggman's plotting and ending with Sonic defeating him.[9]

The Last Minute[]

Some time later, after Eggman and Starline returned from a private mission, Orbot told Eggman that the Faceship was currently over Spiral Hill Village and had already deployed a batch of Metal Virus down to it.[10]

All or Nothing[]

WhatsAngelIslandZavok

Orbot witnessed Starline invite the Deadly Six onto the Faceship and watched how they managed to quickly overthrow the platypus and Eggman. He and Cubot soon received a message from Rouge, who had sneaked into the Faceship days earlier; Rouge requested for Orbot and Cubot to pretend that they were happy to now serve the Deadly Six so that she could coordinate with Orbot to spy on their deployments and coordinate a counterattack. Zavok continued to ask several questions about Eggman's whereabouts. When Orbot pulled up a list of all of Eggman's previous bases, he questioned him about what Angel Island was. Cubot soon interrupted and lied that there was a problem down in the Metal Virus factory. After Zavok left to deal with the alert, Rouge came down and told the two robots to send Amy the latest coordinates so that they could attack immediately. After Orbot asked how she would get the Chaos Emerald from Zavok, she stated that she was still weighing her options and requested that they continue to play along.[11][12]

Soon enough, when the Faceship arrived at Angel Island, Rouge discreetly removed the white Chaos Emerald from Eggman's throne, depowering the ship. She revealed herself to Zavok and then told Orbot and Cubot to tuck and roll as the Faceship fell downward into the ocean. The two robots managed to survive the crash and stayed still on the land that was close down below. After both Sonic and Metal Sonic were pushed to the ground by Giant Zavok's breath, Cubot warmly greeted their nemesis while Orbot took notice of his infection and advised him to run. Sonic responded by telling him that running was not helping him hold back the Metal Virus anymore. Orbot then corrected the misunderstanding by saying to Sonic he meant run from the incoming Zombots that sought to infect him.[13][14]

Out of the Blue[]

Sometime after Super Sonic and Super Silver undid the effects of the Metal Virus, Orbot and Cubot were found by Gemerl. After Orbot had informed Eggman of this, he sent Metal Sonic to attack Gemerl by impaling him. Metal Sonic dodged shots from Whisper and dropped Gemerl's body in order to catch Orbot and Cubot and then fly to Eggman, who was escaping Angel Island in the Restoration's Rescue Shuttle. When they got onto the shuttle, Orbot found the head of E-123 Omega and told Eggman about it. Omega asked Orbot to bludgeon both Cubot and himself with his head in order to destroy all Eggman robots. This comment made Orbot question why he was holding him. Some time later, in Eggman's lab, Cubot played with jacks in the doctor's office. Eggman entered the room, startling the two robots, and ordered a report. Orbot reported to Eggman that the Zombots did a number on his bases, and while Zavok was defeated and imprisoned, the other members of the Deadly Six were still at large. Realizing that there was nothing for it, Eggman decided to move onto his next project. Orbot and Cubot asked why Eggman was not taking a vacation from his last venture, with Orbot saying that he would like to take some time off and Cubot wanting to go somewhere nice like the basement; hearing this, Orbot told Cubot to keep dreaming. Eggman stated that this was because he wanted to act quickly before Sonic inevitably stopped and noted the fact that he would be powerless against the hiding Deadly Six since he did not have the Cacophonic Conch. Additionally, Eggman had Starline to consider, as he did not know where he ended up.[15][16]

Bad Guys[]

BG2 Eggman and Orbot

Eventually, Orbot and Dr. Eggman arrived at an Eggman base that had been attacked the day before. Showing Eggman an incomplete video recording of Sonic, Orbot believed that Sonic was behind the attack. However, Eggman noticed several inconsistencies that did not match up with Orbot's theory. Believing someone else was behind this, Eggman decided to find out who.[17] Later, Orbot informed Eggman that they had received a report on the Eggnet that said that Sonic was attacking a warehouse to the north. Eggman, however, had previously received a notification that an Eggnet hub was being attacked instead. Though Orbot suggested that perhaps Tails was trying to confuse them, Eggman decided to check out both places, regardless of what the situation might be.[18] However, Orbot soon after gave Eggman an updated report, which said that the previous report about Sonic attacking the warehouse was false and that Zavok was attacking the Eggnet hub. After Eggman carpet-bombed the hub and returned to his HQ, Orbot informed him that they had found no sign of Zavok, which meant the Zeti was still at large. Orbot then admitted that, at least, they had found out who was behind the attacks. Eggman had his doubts, however, and believed that someone else was behind the whole affair and that Zavok was merely a part of it.[19]

Test Run![]

Orbot later got stationed in an Eggman Empire tower that served as a testing facility for Dr. Eggman's various robotic creations with Cubot. While working at the computers however, Orbot and Cubot discovered that Sonic, Tails, and Amy had entered test chambers one and two. Terrified, Orbot and Cubot contacted Eggman and reported the heroes' intrusion to him. However, instead of being yelled at as they had been expecting, Eggman was happy with this turn of events and stepped in to take control of the situation.[20] Orbot and Cubot proceeded afterward with creating new Quasi-Badniks until they were bound by Tangle. Tangle then began interrogating the duo to find out which portal in the facility she could use to find Sonic, Tails and Amy. However, Orbot refused to tell and kept Cubot from falling for her mind tricks. They also wondered if Tangle's accomplish, Belle, was a Badnik. Eventually, however, Tangle forced a response out of Orbot and Cubot, which gave her the information she needed.[21]

Following Tangle's departure into the test chambers, Orbot tried to ask Belle a question, only for her to snap at him. Afterward, Orbot and Cubot would tell Belle about their relation to Eggman when she asked them about it. When Belle then took a call for Orbot and Cubot from Eggman on their tablet, Orbot and Cubot witnessed Belle's emotional breakdown upon hearing Eggman's personal reasons for creating his tower. However, Orbot was not surprised by Eggman's actions. Orbot then saw the test chamber portal had begun to spew energy, which he explained to Belle upon her inquiry that it was a sign that the tower would soon implode. When Tangle later returned to the tower with Sonic, Tails and Amy, Orbot gave Sonic directions on the quickest way out of the tower when the suction from the portal got too strong. He then got pulled along by Tangle when she and everybody else got taken to the Tornado by Sonic. The group then proceeded to escape the tower, just before it imploded. The gang then wondered what to do with Orbot and Cubot, who were open to being thrown off so that they could take a vacation. With the heroes approving of this, Orbot and Cubot jumped into the ocean and were left to float on their own.[22]

Imposter Syndrome[]

Arriving in Eggperial City much later, Orbot and Cubot tried sneaking inside in hopes that Eggman had not taken notice of their absence, with Orbot having to explain to Cubot the consequences they would be facing if Eggman had noticed. Unfortunately, Eggman saw them arrive and began questioning them. Keeping Cubot from spilling the beans, Orbot made up a lie about their whereabouts. Fortunately, Eggman did not care and so had the pair hook up to the Eggnet in order to give him a sitrep about an attack on Eggperial City committed apparently by Sonic and Tails. However, Orbot discovered that their data was incongruent with Sonic and Tails' data, and so brought up a visual of the real intruders: Surge the Tenrec and Kitsunami the Fennec. With Orbot unable to deduce their identities, Eggman sent Metal Sonic after the duo. Soon after, Dr. Starline took control of Orbot and Eggman's other robots across the world with an override code uploaded into Eggman's server. As Orbot and Cubot prepared to apprehend Eggman, the pair got squashed into their compact forms by Eggman, who escaped into the Memorial Garage. Afterward, after Orbot had welcomed Starline into his seat of power in Eggperial City, Starline took notice of Cubot's compressed state. After Orbot and Cubot had explained what Eggman had done, Starline was sure that he posed no threat.[23]

Battle for the Empire[]

Not long after, Orbot reported to Dr. Starline that Sonic and Tails had arrived in Eggperial City, information of which he then passed on to Surge and Kit. However, he quickly sought cover with Cubot behind Starline's throne when Dr. Eggman returned in the Egg Emperor and attacked Starline. Orbot was soon after liberated from Starline's control following Eggman's victory over Starline, and would subsequently go to work cleaning up from Eggman's attack.[24] Orbot would update Eggman on Sonic and the others locations in the city.[25]

Overpowered[]

Orbot went with Dr. Eggman to a storage room after the was an exposition in it. He called out to make sure Cubot was alright. Surge appeared out of the smoke and Orbot cowered behind Eggman. While the Egg Pawns were firing on Surge, Orbot picked up Cubot and informed his boss the Egg Pawns' blasts were not affecting Surge.[26][27] After Surge left, Orbot took inventory of the storage room with Cubot and updated Eggman on what was damaged.[28]

Hero Camp[]

Orbot and Cubot made a scheme where they would bring kids who knew Sonic and been with the Restoration to find info on the group and Sonic's secrets. Orbot disguised himself with a hat and glasses and used the cover name Orville. Once the campers arrived, they ran some challenges on them to test their theories. Orbot found most of the information from Cream the Rabbit and pushed her to know more information about Restoration HQ. At the end of the day, he challenged the campers to tell a story that would scare Sonic. His cover was blown after he said he didn't know what s'mores were. Cream and the other kids, tired from all the challenges, attacked the two robots and tied them up. Orbot thinks he failed because he taught them too well.[1]

Urban Warfare[]

Orbot was in the control room of the central tower of Eggperial City with Doctor Eggman, Cubot, and Metal Sonic. He complimented Eggman's speech when he released the Shadow Androids on Sonic and his friends.[29] When Eggman said it was good Shadow was growing the Giant Fake Chaos Emeralds and making them unstable, Orbot commented it was dangerous because the infrastructure of the city couldn't keep up with their growth. Eggman assured the safeguards he put in place would not make the Emeralds grow out of control. When Sonic, Tails, Amy, and Tangle broke into the control room, Orbot and Cubot hid while they attacked.[30] Orbot shushed Cubot while Eggman was addressing Sonic and co. Orbot checked on Doctor Eggman after he was attacked by Whisper. Eggman tossed him aside to face Sonic. Not long after, Sonic, with the help of his friends, destroyed the tower Orbot, Cubot, and Eggman where in, leaving their fate unknown.[31]

Sonic's 900th Adventure[]

Orbot and Cubot cheered Doctor Eggman as he tested out his new mech robot while they sat in the Eggmobile. The Warp Topaz suddenly dropped into Cubot's hands and they alerted the doctor. Sonic then arrived an tried to take the Topaz from Orbot and Cubot. Sonic used the Topaz to teleport him and the robots around, hurting Eggman in the process. Eggman shot rockets at Sonic as the hedgehog got a hand on the Topaz. With Orbot holding on for dear life, Sonic managed to redirect a rocket to Eggman and warped out of there before it blew up. Orbot and Cubot lay defeated as Sonic warped out of the area.[32]

Winter Jam[]

Orbot and Cubot observed their creator watching reality TV for his research, prompting Orbot to rant about Eggman's poor work ethic, before noticing a paper drawing with the words "WINTER JAM" on it. Orbot came up with an idea, but Cubot's dim-wittiness failed to understand at first glance. They created a TV set and kidnapped Sonic and his friends to the location. Once they arrived, Cubot welcomed them to Orbot and Cubot's "Winter Jam". Orbot revealed that the prize for winning their series of games was a purple Chaos Emerald, but only one team could have it. Omega began looking for a wall to blow up to escape, which caused Cubot to reveal they will show a new Badnik during the show, which caused Omega to stay since he wanted to destroy it. The group was split into teams, and they were put through a series of games, which Orbot and Cubot directed, officiated, and commentated on.

Eventually, they came to "Sculpt Jam", where the teams had to make ice sculptures. The teams could barely start their sculpture when Froggy used laser eyes to make a statue of Eggman. It was then revealed by Cubot that "Froggy" was actually the Badnik they teased; the real Froggy escaped the Giant Chopper that kidnapped them. Omega went into a frenzy and destroyed the arena, while Rouge stole the Chaos Emerald. The commotion caused Eggman to arrive at the scene and Cubot pressed a button that sent Sonic's friends out of arena and back to Green Hill. Eggman thought the show was garbage and deleted the whole thing, including his own research. Even though he threw a fit, Orbot and Cubot still thought they did a good job.[33]
