Optical Cable

Sonic heading towards an optical cable.

Optical cables[1] are objects, that are seen in Sonic Colors. It is a sharp and cyan sparkling management head, which can lead Sonic through a shortcut to other sections or alternative paths in the level.

Description

The optical cables resembles short antennas, with a red foot, a cyan cord wrapping around it, and a cyan glowing orb on the top that acts as a channel.[2]

When the player has obtained a Cyan Wisp from a Wisp Capsule, the player has the option to target nearby optical cables with Sonic by transforming him into the Cyan Laser and aiming him toward the optical cable's channel. If the player aims right and hits the channel, the optical cable will suck Sonic into it along with his Hyper-go-on, through optical cable to the closest exit channel. Once through the optical channel, Sonic will run out of Hyper-go-on and revert back to normal. The player can then have arrived in a completely different section of the level after this event. Passing through the optical cable will award the player with 60,000 Color Bonus points.
