The Oct[1] (オクト[2] Okuto?) is an enemy that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a mass-produced, octopus-based Badnik model created by Dr. Eggman.

Appearance

The Octs are based on octopuses. They have a cylinder-shaped bodies with a round purple top, a thick yellow ring below it, and a gray lower section with another thick gray ring on the upper section which hides two cartoonish black eyes underneath a shade on the ring. Lastly. They each have two slightly downward-facing red cannons on the sides.

Sonic Advance

In Sonic Advance, the Octs appear as enemies. They are encountered exclusively in Egg Rocket Zone and Cosmic Angel Zone.

In gameplay, the Octs hover in mid-air and move sideway, occasionally pausing to fire downward energy balls. To best take out an Oct, the player has to use an aerial maneuver, such as the Spin Jump or Glide. Also, upon their destruction, they will release an Animal.

Sonic Pinball Party

In Sonic Pinball Party, the Octs appear as obstacles. They can be found on certain pinball tables.

Powers and abilities

The Octs are capable of levitation and can fire deadly energy balls.
