"Nowhere to Run" is the level theme for the stage Prison Hall in Sonic Forces. A synthetic dubstep instrumental, it conveys the Avatar's feelings about their mission to save and free Sonic from his imprisonment aboard the Death Egg.
Lyrics[]
All my anxiety
Now is taking control of me
I'm holding onto every little bit of hope
Got a feeling you are near
Somewhere here in the atmosphere
I can't escape, there's nowhere left for me to hide
Nowhere to run
Nowhere to hide
Destiny will vanish forever
Nowhere to run
Nowhere to hide
Oblivion is coming forever
All my anxiety
Now is taking control of me
I'm holding onto every little bit of hope
Feel it taking control of me
I'm holding onto every little bit of hope...
Somewhere here in the atmosphere
I can't escape from this reality
Connection to the game[]
All my anxiety / Now is taking control of me / I'm holding onto every little bit of hope... - The Avatar, despite their initial cowardly nature, is doing their hardest to make sure they complete the mission to find Sonic.
Got a feeling you are near / Somewhere here in the atmosphere / I can't escape there's nowhere left for me to hide... - The Avatar's mission is to try and find Sonic, who is imprisoned aboard the Death Egg, and also foreshadowing that the Avatar will ultimately have to face their fears.
Nowhere to run / Nowhere to hide / Destiny will vanish forever - The Resistance is fighting against the Eggman Empire, and their chances at beating them or even surviving are uncertain at best.
I can't escape from this reality - Foreshadowing the powers of the Phantom Ruby.
