The No Zone[2] is a location that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It is an alternate Zone within Sonic's multiverse, and the home reality of the Zone Cops, the trans-dimensional police cops that monitors and polices the Cosmic Interstate and the multiverse in general.

Description[]

The No Zone is a unique Zone in the sense that it exists ninety degrees from every other dimension and intersects all the other Zones in Sonic's multiverse, making it qualitatively infinitely larger than almost every other zone in existence,[1][2] because of the peculiar arrangement, those from the No Zone appear to to stand horizontally when in other Zones, effectively standing on the walls instead of the floor. Likewise, any visitor to the No Zone find themselves standing sideways unless given special equipment to keep them upright.[3][4]

The No Zone's inhabitants are affiliated with a trans-dimensional police force called the Zone Cops, of which Zonic is a star member. As a result all of the inhabitants seem to have law-abiding personalities that are nonetheless based on their Prime Zone personalities - including such counterparts as the director of the Zone Jail, Warden Zobotnik, and prison therapist Zouge the Bat.[1][4][5]

From the No Zone, the Zone Cops keep watch over the Cosmic Interstate and all the alternate versions of the Prime Zone that exist.[1] Zonic's headquarters in the No Zone is a technologically advanced nerve center equipped with hundreds of computer screens. Each of these screens monitors a different dimension, as well as the Cosmic Interstate itself.[2]

Oddly enough, all the inhabitants of the No Zone have names starting with "Z".[1]

History[]

Beginnings[]

Backstory of the No Zone is left unclear, all is known is that Zone Cops patrolled the multiverse for a long time before beginning of the series and had to worry only about occasional breaches between Zones. Once Ultimate Annihilator weakened barriers between Zones, Zone Cops' job became more difficult.

Difficult times[]

After some time, Mammoth Mogul obtained power of Prime Zone's Chaos Force, beginning his war on the Multiverse, destroying every single zone besides Prime Zone and Perpendicular Zone, entering No Zone shrunken Mogul, allowing every Zone Cop to briefly fight him, buying time before Tails could transform into Titan Tails.

After Tails returned everything back, No Zone entered a war with Eggman Nega, which left No Zone in ruins and their army spread thin

Inside Job[]

After capturing Scourge the Hedgehog, he was put into Zone Jail in the No Zone, where he remained for some time before Destructix got themselves captured to free him, after breaking out led by Fiona Fox.[6], Zone Jail was left damaged after Verti-Cal's and Horizont-Al's rampage inside, with Zonic hoping Scourge remains in his Zone.
