The Nightmare is an enemy that appears in Sonic Dream Team. They are a type of corruption that were spreading throughout the Dreamscapes until Shadow the Hedgehog eradicated them.
Appearance[]
Nightmares are large, amorphous entities made of dark purple, inky sludge with a semi-liquid texture, which can spread across any surface, creating a corrupted effect with swirling black and purple hues. These creatures are adorned with multiple glowing, blue orbs that resemble eyes, each with a slit-like pink pupil with a faint blue aura surrounding these eyes.
Overview[]
The exact origins of the Nightmares are unknown. But they had begun slowly corrupting the Dreamscapes. Shadow became aware of this and used the powers of Chaos Shift to hunt down and eradicate these creatures and ultimately prevented their corruption from spreading.
Powers and abilities[]
Due to how large Nightmares can be, they are able to corrupt their surroundings quickly and cover many places at once. The corruption also seems to protect their eyes, which requires Shadow to find and destroy the eyes that aren’t protected to leave them open for attack.
