This location exists primarily or exclusively within the Pre-Super Genesis Wave continuity.
Information in this article may not be canonical to the storyline of the games or any other Sonic continuity.
For the version of this location after the Super Genesis Wave, see Never Lake (Archie).

Never Lake is a location that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs. It is a lake in the Kingdom of Mercia, and its sacred waters are where the Little Planet appears over once a year for a whole month.

History

While at Never Lake, Rob O' the Hedge and Mari-An discovered that Silver the Hedgehog had appeared above its waters. As Rob asked Silver of why he had trespassed on these waters, Silver inquired as to where he could find Sonic the Hedgehog, saying that their future depended on it. Rob told Silver that he could take him to Sonic, and the two of them left Never Lake through a Super Warp Ring to Freedom HQ.

Sometime later, Dr. Eggman's forces tried to hunt down and capture Rob, Mari-An and Jon, but lost track of them around Never Lake.

Trivia

  • Never Lake is named after the lake with the same name from Sonic the Hedgehog CD, where Little Planet hovered over. Evidence that supports this is when Mari-An mentions to Rob that "it" is not suppose to come for another week. It was later confirmed in Sonic Super Special Magazine #3 that it is indeed the lake that Little Planet appears over.
  • On the Sonic Universe Blog on the official Archie Comics website, it's mentioned that Never Lake and the Time Stones have been shown, but not the time traveling part in Sonic the Hedgehog #25. They also said the answers lie in the future, hinting that Never Lake may return, and to an extent, the Little Planet.
