History

Sonic the Hedgehog Pocket Adventure

In Sonic the Hedgehog Pocket Adventure, Dr. Eggman used this vehicle to attack Sonic when he was passing through Neo South Island Zone. In spite of Eggman's efforts though, his vehicle got destroyed by Sonic in the end.

Battle

The Neo South Island Zone boss is the first boss of Sonic the Hedgehog Pocket Adventure. The player fights it at the end of Neo South Island Zone Act 2.

Boss guide

When the player arrives in a wide empty area at the end of Neo South Island Zone Act 2, Dr. Eggman will appear in his vehicle, both of which will fall down into the arena, initiating the boss battle. First, Eggman will roll toward the left side of the arena, slamming the ground with his sledgehammer, before going off-screen. He will then emerge from the left side of the screen and move across the arena, slamming his sledgehammer into the ground while doing so, until he goes off-scree again on the right side of the arena. He will the remerge from the left side of the screen and start the whole process over again. After taking four hits however, Eggman will change his attack patterns. When he reaches the middle of the arena, he will pause to slam the ground with a powerful thwack from the hammer: the shockwave will inflict damage regardless of where Sonic stands, so be sure to jump when seeing him raise the sledgehammer.

This boss needs eight hits to be defeated. However, the player must be careful not to get hit by the sledgehammer when launching an attack on Eggman if they want to defeat the boss. Noticeably, Eggman also stops on occasion to laugh at Sonic.

After being defeated, the Neo South Island boss will blow up. Eggman then flees in his Egg Mobile, leaving the player to open the capsule and clear the Zone in doing so.
