Neo Devil Doom is a transformation that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is the evolved form of Black Doom's Devil Doom transformation, used during the events of the Time Eater incident to fight Shadow the Hedgehog and his newfound Doom Powers. It serves as the second phase of the final boss of Shadow Generations.
Appearance[]
Neo Devil Doom is an even more fearsome evolution of Devil Doom. He retains much of his original appearance, being a giant, winged, two-headed monster with red and purple skin. Major differences include elongated horns and claws, mandible-like protrusions on his face and chest, and two extra pairs of arms sprouting from his shoulders (making six arms total). The neck of his one-horned head also extends to a great length, becoming like a tail. The largest difference is the bulbous organ hanging beneath Devil Doom, which blooms like the petals of a flower to reveal a large eyeball covered in tentacles. Much like Devil Doom, Doom's Eye can only inhabit one of the body's three eyes at a time.

In Shadow Generations, Neo Devil Doom is the form that Black Doom transformed into during his final fight against Shadow the Hedgehog within the Black Moon. After finding that his Devil Doom form was not enough to defeat Shadow, he took on this further evolution in an attempt to overwhelm him. Throughout the battle, he congratulated Shadow for his progress but continued to boast that he would take over his body and become perfected. He attempted to capture him using Chaos Control, and grabbed him in both hands while demanding he submit, but was thwarted each time. He was finally defeated by Shadow and exploded, thanks to the Doom Powers that he granted him in the first place.
Powers and abilities[]
Neo Devil Doom has similar abilities to his previous Devil Doom form, though much stronger. The location of Doom's Eye dictates which attack he uses against Shadow: the main head arranges the roads of Radical Highway into barricades and creates tunnels of darkness to challenge his navigation, the tail-like head reaches out to slash using its horn to challenge his evasion, and the bottom eye launches blue worm-like homing projectiles to challenge his retaliation. He is still able to use Chaos Control, increased to the point he could momentarily freeze a fully-powered Doom Shadow until he chose to break out of it.
Weaknesses[]
Despite how powerful this form is, Neo Devil Doom can be harmed by Shadow after he has become "perfect". Doom Spears can also greatly harm this transformation. Also, it appears that another user of Chaos Control has the potential to negate Neo Devil Doom's Chaos Control due to knowing it as well. This is similar to how Metal Overlord was able to negate Shadow's Chaos Control due to wielding the same power.

- This is the second transformation after Neo Metal Sonic to have the prefix of "Neo-".
- This form is similar to Metal Overlord as both transformations were the final boss of their respective games and occurred during the final battle.
- Based on the scream, the transformation into Neo Devil Doom is likely painful.
- One of the concept forms of Neo Devil Doom heavily resembles Solaris, and another resembles Illumina.
