Nekronopolis is a location that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It is a city on Angel Island and the Dark Mobius counterpart of Nekronopolis.
Description[]
Once a glorious capital, Nekronopolis eventually reached a stage where it showed few signs of life; the streets were littered with flickering lampposts, overturned cars, fires, crumbling buildings and cracked pavement. Its most notable feature is the massively towering statue of Enerjak.[1]
History[]
Nekronopolis was once the capital of the Dark Legion's nation, until it entered decline. The remaining Freedom Fighters hid within the sewers beneath the city. The city served as a battleground as Enerjak and his Prelates engaged the Freedom Fighters and their ally, Silver the Hedgehog, resulting in Enerjak's eventual defeat.[1][2][3][4]
