The Music Destroyer (Robot) (abbreviated M.D.(R.)) is a character that appears in the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog television series. It is a large Badnik that Dr. Robotnik created to destroy Sonic and the music and take over Mobius with him.
History
After Catty Carlisle debuted her hit single, "Sonic's Song", Dr. Robotnik became extremely jealous and furious over the popularity of the song. Robotnik created Music Destroyer with super-sensitive ears, programming him to destroy music by stealing instruments and capturing anyone who gets in his way.
After being created, M.D. began stealing instruments. He captured Catty Carlisle and blew Tails into a wind sock. When Sonic and Tails came to rescue Catty, M.D. captured them too.
Robotnik promoted M.D. to head of the Super Special Sonic Search and Smash Squad. Scratch and Grounder became jealous after Robotnik demoted them to permanent back-up singers. Sonic tricked them into pulling out M.D.'s fuse and letting him escape by saying how they'll trap him, only to get them and Robotnik trapped. They managed to break free and Robotnik fixed M.D., who went after Sonic. Sonic eventually made M.D. explode by playing very loud rock music.[1]
Personality
The Music Destroyer does not go after Robotnik's music because it does not sound like music to him. It literally gets a headache when he hears music (only when noisy), but is a very entertaining dancer.
Trivia
- In the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog clip show episode, "Hero of the Year", Music Destroyer makes a brief appearance in a clip from "Sonic's Song".
