The Motobug is a character that appears in the Sonic Boom television series. They are ladybug-based robots created by Dr. Eggman which make up a part of the foot soldiers in his army. They are usually stationed at Dr. Eggman's lair where they patrol the island or guard Eggman's fortress as sentries[1] and have been used against Team Sonic on numerous occasions.

When Dr. Eggman held a surprise party for Orbot and Cubot, a number of Motobugs participated in the festivities until Eggman brought them to an end.[4] To guard the captured Team Sonic, T.W. Barker ordered a batch of Motobugs from Eggman which were all destroyed when the team managed to escaped.[5] A lone Motobug was also used to test a freeze ray and another help Eggman in his laser tag exercise which it lost to its master.[6][7]
