The Mobian Sea[1] is a location that appears in the Sonic Underground television series. It is a large body of water located on Mobius, and it is presumably the largest body of water on the planet. Port Mobius is located on the shore of it.

Description[]

The Mobian Sea is a large expanse of seawater on Mobius. Moby Deep lives beneath the waves of this sea.[1]

History[]

TV series[]

Past[]

At some point in the recent past, Dr. Robotnik constructed a hidden submarine in the Mobian Sea, and used it to terrorize the nearby Port Mobius. Most of the residents of the town blamed said attacks on the legendary monster, Moby Deep, and allied themselves with Robotnik in the hopes that he would protect them. However, the local Resistance leader Captain Squeegee secretly refused to join Robotnik.[1]

Season One[]

The Sonic Underground were later instructed to visit the Mobian Sea and Port Mobius to meet with "Queen Aleena", not realizing that the message referred to the Queen Aleena showboat and not their missing mother. After facing resistance from the locals in Port Mobius, the Sonic Underground joined Captain Squeegee in the Queen Aleena in the hopes of freeing the people from Robotnik's control by catching Moby Deep. However, due to his fear of water, Sonic chose to instead stay behind on port Mobius, while the others sailed out to search for Moby Deep. Learning of the ship's departure, Sleet and Dingo took off after it in their submarine, intending to sink it. Sonic noticed this, and pursued the sub in a patrol boat after a two failed attempts at signaling Manic and Sonia. Unfortunately, the boat was chased by Swatbots, and crashed into a large rock, leaving Sonic stranded in the middle of the Mobian Sea and unable to swim. However, Sonic was rescued by Moby Deep himself, who just turned out to be a large whale. Although scared of boats, Moby Deep brought Sonic to the Queen Aleena, before leaving. Sonic then warned his siblings of the incoming submarine, only for him to be interrupted by an attack from it which broke a hole in the Queen Aleena's hull. However, Sonic stopped the water flowing in, and used their music to make Sleet and Dingo bring the sub up to the surface. The Sonic Underground then used the combined power of their Medallions to destroy the sub, leaving Sleet on a fish-transformed Dingo, frantically trying to escape a pursuing Moby Deep.[1]

Later, following Sleet and Dingo's theft of the Chaos Emerald from the Fortress of Altitude, the flying base fell into the Mobian Sea, with Sonic, Sonia, Manic, Robotnik, and Knuckles onboard it. Although all members managed to escape in time to a nearby island, the Fortress of Altitude was soon flooded with water, causing it to sink to the bottom of the Mobian Sea.[2][3]
