Fake Sonic

A mirror fighter and Sonic at Giant Wing, from Sonic the Fighters.

The mirror fighter is a subject that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. They grayscale clones of the playable character created by Dr. Eggman, which use the same exact move-set as the player and are completely alike to the character they originate from.

Description[]

Eggman's UFO Vechile

Eggman creating a mirror fighter of Espio, from Sonic the Fighters.

The mirror fighters are encountered during the story mode when a playable character reaches their respective stage, or when two players pick the same character in multiplayer mode. Upon reaching their home stage, Robotnik will appear in a UFO-like vehicle and zap the player(s) with a green ray, causing a gray-scale clone to fall out of the first player's character like a ghost, both characters will then be surprised by the other and begin to fight.

Trivia[]

  • In the original Sonic the Fighters, when Eggman clones a RoboEgg, Metal Sonic, or himself, the created mirror fighter is in full color.
    • Additionally, when Eggman clones Honey the Cat, the created mirror fighter has its own color palette.
  • Although the Mirror fighter has no official merchandise, Tomy released grayscale action figures of Sonic and Tails which bear striking resemblance to the Mirror fighter versions of said characters. Despite this, the packaging still refers to the figures as "Classic Sonic" and "Classic Tails" respectively.
