Take a good look at yourself, Sonic! Doctor Eggman?! It's the last look you'll get before I close your eyes forever! Hoo ho ho ho ho ho ho ho!
The Mirror Room is a location that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a small dormant location right outside the entrance to the Death Egg Robot boss fight.
The Mirror Room is a dark corridor where a wall of transparent glass separates the two pathways. A row of white chandeliers hang on both sides. At the end, there is a giant glowing door that leads directly to the Death Egg.
It is unknown if other Boss Gates contain this space, aside the one leading to the Death Egg Robot. Given the decorations, the space seems to have some sort of significance. However, the location doesn't appear to be advantageous to the traveller or dangerous with any sort of trap, leading to it's purpose ultimately unknown as it seems unnecessary for an individual to traverse through in the Boss Gate portals.
History[]
Past[]
When the location was created is unknown. It likely was created by the Time Eater as White Space formed, as Dr. Eggman knew to taunt into the space to get Sonic into the boss room faster.
Sonic Generations[]
After going through the Boss Gate, the two Sonics find themselves in a dark hallway full of mirrors, and then notice each other, seeing each other as strange reflections in the mirror and mimicking each others moves. As they look at each other, they suddenly hear the echoing voice of Dr. Eggman taunting them, and Classic Sonic storms ahead in a flash. Modern Sonic then realizes that the other Sonic was not his reflection, but literally another Sonic, and tries to keep up with him, only to be shut out.
Trivia[]
If one were to play both versions of the cutscene side-by-side, they wonโt sync up properly:
In Modern Sonic's cutscene, Modern Sonic looks around after hearing Dr. Eggman's voice and later puts his left arm on his hip. He does neither of these in Classic Sonic's version of this cutscene.
In Modern Sonic's cutscene, Modern Sonic realizes it was another Sonic before Classic Sonic jumps through the door. In contrast, he comes to this conclusion only after Classic Sonic has already gone through in Classic Sonic's cutscene.
When rewatching this cutscene in the Collection Room, it will only play the version played when first entering the boss fight.
