The Minions[2] are a species that appear in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. They were a race of goblin-like creatures apparently native to the Zone of Silence.
History[]
After Maximillian Acorn was banished to the Zone by Dr. Ivo Robotnik, the Minions took him in and chose him to be their leader, outfitting him with special armor.[2] They subsequently joined him when Sonic the Hedgehog, Sally Acorn and other members of the Knothole Freedom Fighters came to rescue the king, though they were defeated by Sonic's speed.[3] Later, the Minions would be caught up in the Zone of Silence's near collapse, which the Freedom Fighters were able to prevent with the Neutralizer device.[2]
When Feist rose to power, the Minions were reduced to nothing and used by Feist as building material for the Special Zone, rendering their species extinct.[1]
