(Sonic Prime)
History[]
Past[]
Some amount of time later, Tails would challenge Sonic, betting that the hedgehog couldn't run home and back in the time it took for Tails to fly to the top of a palm tree in Green Hill. Although Tails would win the bet, Sonic did not pay Tails the amount he supposedly bet, with Tails later noting that Sonic still owed him.[1]
Sometime long after the events of Sonic Advance 3,[2] Tails gathered with Amy, Knuckles, Rouge, Big, Froggy, and Birdie around a palm tree in Green Hill (the same one which on which Tails had previously won the bet by flying to its top) to surprise Sonic by presenting him with the tree, which they had all formed fond memories around. Sonic, however, missed the point of the presentation, and was ultimately displeased, having more interest in the plate of Chili dogs offered.[1]
On another occasion, Tails would use the Tornado to watch a fight between Sonic and Dr. Eggman's Eggcrusher mech from the the skies of Green Hill. Although initially confused due to Eggman's mech being in a strategically poor position, and Tails believing the doctor was too smart not to realize it, Tails soon found that Eggman wasn't actually in the mech, and it was automated. Realizing it was a trap set for Sonic, Tails attempted to warn his friend, to no avail, as Sonic defeated the mech anyways, creating a large blue wave of energy due to a Power Amplifier Eggman had planed in the mech.[3]
Tails working in his lab, from "Shattered".
Disgruntled, Tails returned to his lab, where he discussed the nature of the attack with Sonic. Growing interested in the device Sonic mentioned being inside the mech, Sonic quickly ran back to the site of the battle and recovered it, bringing it to Tails for research. After learning the nature of the device, Tails was met by Rouge, who informed him of her speculations regarding Eggman's scheme to locate the Paradox Prism, and how she believed Sonic's speed was abused with the amplifier to unearth the cavern wherein the prism lay. Tails believed this, and met with Sonic, Knuckles and Amy at the top of a Loop-de-Loop to discus their plan.[3]
While Sonic left, Tails and the others surveyed the area in the Tornado. Noticing a fault line traveling from the defeated robot up the side of one of Green Hill's mountains, which had its peak obscured by a suspicious non-moving cloud, Tails decided to bring the team to investigate, uncovering Eggman's secret drilling operations for the Paradox Prism in the process. After defeating the Badniks guarding the entrance to the cavern, Tails and his friends entered the cavern, preparing to fight more Badniks and Dr. Eggman himself.[3][4]
Season one[]
Tails tries to warn Sonic about the Paradox Prism, from "Shattered".
Having noticed Eggman's drilling operations for the Paradox Prism in Green Hill's Mountain. Tails and his teammates (minus Sonic) advanced on the cavern and fought the initial wave of Badniks. Tails and the team would sarcastically greet Sonic once he returned, exclaiming his tardiness. Tails and his teammates would proceed to bravely battle the remaining Badniks, only to be interrupted by Sonic's accidental shattering of the Paradox Prism, and action which displaced Tails and his teammates across dimensions in the Shatterverse. His alternate counterparts are: Nine from New Yoke City, Mangey Tails from Boscage Maze, and Sails Tails from No Place.
Season two[]
Tails trapped in Ghost Hill, from "Avoid the Void".
When Sonic visits Ghost Hill, he encounters ghost versions of his friends. Tails is seen flying while repeating the same phrase over and over again: "As long as I'm around, you'll always have a wingman". Sonic tries talking to Tails but he is unable to respond. Some days later, Sonic, Shadow and Nine visit Ghost Hill to try to fix the Paradox Prism. Nine looks at Tails, and says they are nothing alike. While Nine puts the Shards together, Tails and the rest of Sonic's friends are back to normal, though it only lasts a few seconds.
Season three[]
Tails notices Sonic is acting different, from "From the Top".
When Ghost Hill starts to collapse, Sonic takes a final look at his friends. Tails and the others are seen floating up to the sky while everything around them is being destroyed. Sonic promises his "little buddy" that they will meet again somehow.[5]
When Green Hill is finally restored, the timeline resets to a point before the Prism incident. Sonic arrives and sees Tails and his other friends fighting Eggman's badniks. Tails warns Sonic about the Prism, and is weirded out when Sonic hugs Eggman's mech. He fights alongside his friends and defeat Eggman. He is surprised to see Shadow in the cave. Later on, Tails is seen relaxing on the beach with Amy and Rouge. He notices Sonic acts different and asks him about it. But before his friend is able to explain anything, something big in the sky crashes their picnic. Tails and the others are determined to fight back, and they all run into battle.[6]
