The Midesta Egg Army is a group that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It is an Egg Army division stationed in Midesta, led by Nephthys the Vulture, whose primary objective is to conquer the region for Dr. Eggman.[1] They are primarily opposed by the Desert Raiders, who works with Nephthys to keep the army in a stalemate.

The Midesta Egg Army would find themselves dueling with the Desert Raiders on multiple occasions.[2]

Shattered World Crisis

Act Two

The Midesta Egg Army had captured the Gaia Key Guardian, Ehsan and acted merciful towards him, usually feeding him curry. After learning that the Freedom Fighters were in the area, some Egg Soldiers went to fight against them alongside a Badnik Horde. After being defeated by the combined efforts of the Freedom Fighters and the Desert Raiders, the Midesta Egg Army was forced to retreat.[2]

Later on, the army's base was infiltrated and Nephthys the Vulture took it upon herself to fight Sonic the Hedgehog, who was currently in his werehog form. Other soldiers would find opposition in the Dark Gaia Creatures that were led into their base by Chip. After rescuing Ehsan, the Freedom Fighters and Desert Raiders escaped but Nephthys made sure to tell the latter that all was well at base.[3]

Nephthys was soon contacted by Dr. Eggman for a priority one mission and later saw the Gaia Temple nearby base rise up from its position.[4][5]

The Midesta Egg Army has made their base in an ancient ruin embedded in a mountainside within the Arid Sands Zone.
