The Metarex Viper (メタレックス・バイパー Metarekkusu Baipā?) is a character that appears in the anime series Sonic X. It was a model of Metarex that combined snake-like and humanoid qualities.

Metarex Saga[]
A force of Metarex Vipers were assigned to a planet conquered by the Metarex to manage a facility that was producing fake Chaos Emeralds for the Metarex war effort. This facility was discovered by the crew of the Blue Typhoon, who engaged the Vipers in battle and claimed the Chaos Emerald.[2]
Personality[]
The Metarex Vipers have very persistent personalities.[1]
Powers and abilities[]
Vipers are capable of breathing fire and have prehensile tails they can use to strike their foes or grab things. Although they are one of the weaker Metarex, Vipers also have a good degree of strength. For example, one of them was able to free itself after being buried under a large pile of rocks. Vipers are also durable enough to withstand being electrocuted without major damage. Vipers also have good agility and amazing reflexes; one of them was able to dodge a Spin Attack from Sonic by jumping over him.

Each Viper is armed with a large spear.
Trivia[]
- The Metarex Vipers resemble robotic versions of the mythical Nāga.
