The Metarex Gigatail[1] (メタレックス・ギガテイル[1] Metarekkusu Gigateiru?) is a character that appears in the anime series Sonic X. It was a Tyrannosaur-like Metarex.

The Metarex Gigatail attacked the Blue Typhoon as it entered the atmosphere of a planet occupied by forces under Metarex Crystal. It proved a formidable adversary, but was quickly defeated by several missiles launched from the Typhoon.[2]
Powers and abilities[]
Gigatail was armed with sharp claws and teeth, and a prehensile, mace-like tail. Gigatail had great strength, able to greatly damage the Blue Typhoon with a swing of its tail. It also had missile launchers on its lower torso and was capable of flight.
