Metal Sonic is the boss of Ancient Ruins and the third boss of Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal. He is encountered in Facility Race, which becomes available after clearing Robot Facility and obtaining eighteen Sonic Badges, and is fought with Sonic the Hedgehog.
Boss guide[]
The fight is a race against Metal Sonic. To beat Metal Sonic, the player must reach the finish line before Metal Sonic using the Enerbeam Swings, Boost Pads, and Bounce Pads. However, these gimmicks can also be used by Metal Sonic. Additionally, there are a few shortcuts blocked by dash blocks that the player can blast through with the Air Dash in order to take said paths. Metal Sonic does not use these shortcuts however, which means using these shortcuts will give the player the chance to overtake him.
