To use Metal Sonic’s All-Star Move, the player must have obtained an All-Star Item. When using it, Metal Sonic's vehicle gets a temporary increase in speed while one of his theme songs plays in the background. How his All-Star Move is performed depends on the game. In addition, Metal Sonic gains a special power unique to himself, which effect also depends on the game, for the duration of the move.
Game appearances[]
Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing[]
In Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing, Metal Sonic’s All-Star Move is referred to as the Maximum Overdrive. When activated, Metal Sonic’s Metal Booster transforms into a missile shape while two objects travel some distance in front of him, both of them creating a green laser bar between them. This laser will flip and thus slow down any opponents it comes into contact with. The song that plays for the duration of the move is "Metallic Madness" from Sonic the Hedgehog CD.
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed[]
In Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, Metal Sonic’s All-Star Move is unnamed. When activated, Metal Sonic uses the Mysterious Orb to summon a large version of his Black Shield around him which can knock enemies out of the way by pressing the Weapon button. Like all other All-Star Moves, his Metal Booster changes into plane mode if not already in said mode. The song that plays for the duration of the move is "Boss: Metal Sonic" from Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode II.
