This group exists primarily or exclusively within the Pre-Super Genesis Wave continuity.

Information in this article may not be canonical to the storyline of the games or any other Sonic continuity.

The Metal Series are a group that appear in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. They are a group of five robots created by Doctor Eggman. Their purpose is to "assist" the Dark Egg Legion, as Eggman puts it. They are highly armed with various weapons, making them very dangerous.

Trivia

While only Metal Sonic, Mecha Sally, Metal Tails, Metal Knuckles, and Metal Amy were listed a part of the Metal Series in-comic, Sonic the Hedgehog: The Complete Sonic Comic Encyclopedia also lists Metal Scourge, Mecha Knuckles, and Tails Doll as Metal Series robots.
