Actually, no. Only the Lightning Shield can block both their sparks and lightning pulse teleportation...wait, I see what you mean now. My bad! Didn't realize there were two robots with the same Badnik name! Was referring to the Carnival Night Version (sparkle).
Here are the other screenshots that my friend took.
In the Japanese version of Chaotix, the standard blue version of Metal Sonic is called "Metal Sonic Kai" - after previously being defeated by Sonic, Metal Sonic's main and sub CPUs were installed into a spare body, revived by Dark Ring power and installed with a Plasner that enables his Plasma Pulse Attack.
For a long time, wikis incorrectly stated that this was the name of his giant red form, but it isn't.
Oh, that's interesting! That explains why エミー suddenly flips to エイミー between the Sonic the Hedgehog Book stories. This info should definitely be added to the article. You wouldn't happen to know if the reason why the same book uses マイルス・パーアワー / テイルズ instead of マイルス・パウアー / テイルス is a similar one, would you?
You can see scans here: Page 17 (the prehistoric story) uses エミー and Pages 44 and 48 (the medieval story) and Page 49 (the manga cast) use エイミー instead. So browsing some other online scans, I thought that the latter was a typo, but the book being done by both Keji Terada and Sango Norimoto explains the discrepancy.
Well spotted! That panel is the only instance I've seen of Sango Morimoto using the エミー spelling. Even towards the end of the series, like the July 1993 issue of Shogaku Ichinensei, he was still using エイミー.
Kenji Terada didn't seem to write anything in Sonic the Hedgehog book though, he only gets an "original concept" credit, just like the rest of the manga series. Kenji Terada only directly wrote the prose stories in Shogaku Yonensei.
I've made the corrections on Amy (Shogakukan). The surname seems to have been applied retroactively since it's well after the release of Sonic CD, but I've made a note of that as well. I've also, while looking up the story that shows her last name, spotted Tails' name written properly, so I've fixed that as well (if Tails' Shogakukan article deserves a section on his name as well, I'll leave that to your discretion). I didn't spot a manga instance of パーアワー yet, but it's likely somewhere given what we know of the writer. If you see it somewhere, please correct it. Thank you for all your help!
Hello Indigo. You can read Japanese, correct? If that is the case, could you perhaps translate Chaos' profile from Sonic Adventure: Navigation Guide? I think it might confirm that Chaos is a Chao mutated by the Master Emerald.
They're never called Flickies in the game, or any of the Japanese guide books, or Gamma's profile on Sonic Channel. (Or even in Sonic X, which does name-drop Flicky in reference to the original version.)
Their design doesn't match up with the original Flicky or any of the Sonic 3D Flickies either.
Calling Sonic Adventure's bird trio "Flickies" was always just a fan assumption thing. But Sonic Adventure's penguin isn't a Pecky, the seal isn't a Rocky, the rabbit isn't a Pocky. There's nothing to suggest that the birds should be thought of any differently.
I also agreed with Pengi - Amy Rose called the bird that crashed into her "Bird" or "Birdy", but never "Flicky" as far as I know. Same thing go for Eggman, he yelled "get that bird" before sent E-102 to grab it from Amy Rose while she was in the prison, only to have E-102 freed them instead.
So make that those animals appearing in Sonic Adventure more "normal animals" than the ones coming from Sonic's world.
Nope, just Gamma. Presumably the others would be the same height, at least until they got remodeled, but there's nothing official in writing.
I notice that the wiki currently has unsourced heights/weights for them. E-104 Epsilon and E-105 Zeta's are copied over from Gamma's, Beta's is copied over from Sonic X's eye catch card for E-101 "Kai" (so, the wrong form) and E-103 Delta's are completely made up.
Thanks! It's much appreciated. I tried to catch as many as I could too. All the hedgehogs in the series (Brenda, Anita, Paulie, Little John, Amy) have English names, so it didn't make sense to spell his name as Nikki. Also changed Eimi to Amy and Anton Beruka to Anton Veruca.
Hello IndigoPengi. I was wondering if you have the Japanese guidebook for Sonic Rush Adventure. If you do have it, then perhaps you know the name of the enemies that appear in the game. Most of the names we're have here are conjectured.
