Mephiles's monstrous form is term used on Mephiles's unnamed transformation. It appears in Sonic the Hedgehog (2006). It is a state, achieved by fusing himself with his minions by the empowered darkness from a Chaos Emerald.

In this state, Mephiles has great physical strength, enough to create shock waves by hammering into the ground. He also has the ability to fire a powerful purple laser from his eye.

Overview

This Mephiles's monstrous form consist of four giant shadows, encountered during the second boss battle with Mephiles where they will spawn endlessly while Mephiles has the ground cloaked in darkness.

The transformation is completely invulnerable to attack, except from his glowing purple eye which will open after he fire their laser. However, He take several hits to be destroyed, so the Chaos Attack is the best usable move against him. When destroyed, he will give the player a lot of Light Cores which will fill approximately 25% of the Chaos Gauge which the player needs to activate the Chaos Boost. After activating the Chaos Boost, this transformations are instantly destroyed.

In combat, He attacks either by shooting their lasers which can cover a wide area or hammering into the ground which will create shock waves that will damage the player. After hammering the ground, he will back into the ground, but will re-emerge shortly afterwards.
