Mega Muck[1] is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog television series. It is an artificial substance created by Dr. Robotnik as a trap to slow down Sonic the Hedgehog.

Description[]

Mega muck

Mega Muck in the first season of Sonic the Hedgehog.

Mega Muck is a glutinous and thick substance that appears in various colors. During the first season of Sonic the Hedgehog, it is brown and looks a bit like mud, and in the second season it is green. Surmised, it is made of one part petroleum, one part quicksand and one part clay mud.[2]

Capable of gluing together everything that comes into contact with it, Mega Muck is an extremely sticky substance. It is capable of restraining even Sonic the Hedgehog's movements by gluing him to the ground or sticking his limbs together, and it takes at least the strength of a dragon to pull him free.[2][3] Since a pool of it can immobilize Sonic in a manner of steps, the Mega Muck an ideal tool to slow the hedgehog down. As such, Mega Muck is used by some Dr. Robotnik's machines, such as Swat-Bots or Mega Muck Units, which can shoot out streams of this stuff.[3]

History[]

TV series[]

Season one[]

Armed with Mega Muck, Robot Sally once poured it on Sonic to immobilize him and finish him off when he could not counterattack. However, Bunnie pulled Sonic free out of the Mega Muck, thus enabling him to defeat Robot Sally.[4] Later, Sonic had a nightmare where he got stuck in some Mega Muck and could thus not free himself in time to save Sally from being roboticized.[1]

Sonic being pulled out of a pool of Mega Muck.

A roboticized Sir Charles Hedgehog once made a pool of Mega Muck using the natural elements and leftover substances in the swampy junkyard he had arrived at in order to trap Sonic when he arrived to get him. When Sonic arrived, he fell into Charles' pool of Mega Muck, which he sank into until it reached his neck. Charles then left, intending to return for Sonic after he had delivered Tails and Antoine to Robotropolis. However, as soon as he had left, Dulcy, with assistance from Sally and Bunnie, pulled Sonic out of the Mega Muck with a rope.[2] Later, Sonic was hit by the Mega Muck Units, which used Mega Muck as their ammunition. With Sonic immobilized, Dr. Robotnik ordered the Swat-Bots to encage Sonic in a capsule and bring him in for roboticization. However, Dulcy came and pulled out Sonic while immobilizing Robotnik and his robots with her ice breath. Later, Swat-Bots equipped with rifles loaded with Mega Muck and Mega Muck Units accompanied Dr. Robotnik when he was taking a Mother Dragon to the dragon Roboticizer. However, Sonic directed the Swat-Bots against themselves, and Sally and Dulcy hijacked a Mega Muck Unit, which they used to stick the remaining vehicles together.[3]
