Mega 6 Volume 3 is a video game compilation of Sega's six most successful video games originally released for the Sega Mega Drive's early days. It was originally released in the PAL regions for the Sega Mega Drive in July 1995. It was later made a part of the late official bundles for the Sega Mega Drive, and was the last installment in the Mega Games compilations series that was sold late in the system's production.
Mega 6 Volume 3 is the only volume of the Mega Games 6 series to introduce a new game genre to the Mega Games range, and the only Mega Games release to use the shortened title Mega 6. This is also the only Mega Games compilation to include a game from the Sonic series.
The game came with individual instruction manuals for each game, rather than integrating them all into a single manual.
The games in Mega 6 Volume 3 themselves are identical to those that were originally released. However, the game is given a selection menu for the different titles it contains, which displays new renderings of the box art for each of the six games, much like those seen in previous Sega compilation releases, like Classic Collection and Sonic Compilation.
When booting up Mega 6 Volume 3, the game's selection menu is displayed. The control of the selection menu is done with : by pressing left or right, the player can select the different games.
