Tails deploys a small robot equipped with healing tech to heal a friend.

— Description, Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood[1]

Medi Bot (メディカルロボット Medikaru Robotto?, lit. "Medical Robot") is a POW move used by Miles "Tails" Prower in Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood. When performing this move, Tails deploys a droid to restore the Health Points and Power Points of any of the player's characters including Tails himself.

Description[]

When performing Medi Bot, Tails walks up in front of his team and pulls out a small white dome-shaped robot, with a red ring on the bottom and a propeller on top, which is equipped with healing technology. Tails then deploys that robot by sending it to one of his team members so it can heal him/her. The chosen team member will then emit yellow crosses as Tails returns to his team position, and will continue to do so until Medi Bot wears off.

In gameplay, when performing Medi Bot, the player chooses one of the player's characters to be targeted by Medi Bot. The chosen character will then for the next three rounds of combat automatically regain a certain amount of Health Points and Power Points once each round. However, Medi Bot can only restore a character's Health Points and Power Points to their maximum capacity, so even if Medi Bot can restore an amount of Health Points and Power Points greater than the amount of Health Points and Power Points that a character is missing, the character will only regain enough Health Points and Power Points to reach their full capacity. The amount of Health Points and Power Points a character regains from Medi Bot can be seen by the numbers that appear over the character when Medi Bot takes effect (green number for Health Points and blue number for Power Points). The higher the level of Medi Bot is, the greater is the amount of Health Points and Power Points that it can restore each round.

Real-Time Interaction[]

When performing Medi Bot in gameplay, the player has to complete a series of real-time events by performing certain actions on the Touch Screen, in order to execute Medi Bot optimally.

  1. The player has to touch and stay inside the outer circle that appears when it overlaps the inner circle and follow it in a small curve on the upper part of the screen from left to right.
  2. The player has to touch and stay inside the outer circle that appears when it overlaps the inner circle and follow it in a small curve on the lower part of the screen from right to left.

Missing or not touching these circles correctly will result in Tails failing to perform Medi Bot.

Statistics[]

Level PP Cost Damage Effect
I 5 No Damage Regenerate 20 HP and 2 PP for 3 rounds
II 5 No Damage Regenerate 40 HP and 4 PP for 3 rounds
III 5 No Damage Regenerate 60 HP and 6 PP for 3 rounds

Trivia[]

  • In Sega Heroes, a similar maneuver called "Support Bot" appears as part of Tails' ability set. Additionally, the robot created by the ability is directly based on the Medi Bot.
