Mechanical Ring

Template:ItemMechanical Rings are recurring gimmicks that first appeared in Sonic Adventure. It is simply a ring that allows the user achieve more areas in the air.

Description

Mechanical Rings are circular objects made of metal that floats in the air that can boost the player's speed and allows him/her to reach areas that they cannot reach him/herself.

Sonic Adventure

Mechanical Rings first appearance were in in this game. In this game this gimmick only used and appeared in Tails stages to increase his flying range. When using it, the ring will gives the user a boost of speed that helps him reach areas that he cannot reach without it, however if the player has reached his flight range and boost by the Ring then it will boost the user and the user will fall to the bottomless pit.

Sonic Heroes

Mechanical Rings next appearance were in this game, where it slightly smaller than the ones that were in Sonic Adventure and albeit with other changes like adding some plates like the Dash Panel with some green and yellow circles in it and when the user uses it, the user will be surrounded with his aura. In this game every character can use it, but the flight type users are the most users of this gimmick. It appeared in almost every stage in Sonic Heroes.

ٍShadow the Hedgehog

Mechanical Rings appeared in this game, it's purpose and design is the same as in Sonic Heroes. It only appeared in the areas that Shadow rides flying vehicles in it.

Sonic the Hedgehog (2006)

In this game Tails is the only user of this gimmick. When using it, the gimmick will boost up the user to the needed locations, but he cannot fly after using the gimmick. It's color is the same as Sonic Heroes,', but with blue circles in it instead of green.

Sonic Generations

This gimmick last appearance was in Sonic Generations, but only in Tails:Toxic Skies. It's appearance is similar to Sonic Adventure, but is smaller than the Mechanical Rings that appeared in Sonic Adventure. When using it, the gimmick will boost the user's flying, but it's boost is less than the boost in the previous games. After boosting by it the player can continues his flight.
