Mecha Sonic is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It was a powerful robot based on Sonic the Hedgehog and created by Dr. Eggman.
History[]

Mecha Sonic was part of the invasion force employed by Dr. Eggman on Angel Island during his initial invasion, and it thus worked in tandem with both the doctor and Dr. Snively. This resulted in multiple clashes between it, Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles the Echidna after the Guardian learned of the doctors' treachery. It managed to steal the Master Emerald and briefly attained a Super State, but ultimately proved to be no match for the heroes.[1][2]
Powers and abilities[]
Mecha Sonic resembled a cross between the second Silver Sonic and Metal Sonic, being closer to the former in size but more like the latter in abilities. It was flight capable, super fast, super strong, and could also perform Sonic's signature Spin Dash.

Mecha Sonic as it would most likely have appeared in the unfinished and unreleased Sonic the Hedgehog #291.
- Mecha Sonic was supposed to make an appearance in Sonic the Hedgehog #291 but ultimately did not due to the comics' cancellation.
- This version of Mecha Sonic is based on the reoccurring boss from the game Sonic & Knuckles.
