The Mecha Golem (5-gou)[1] (メカゴーレム5号? lit. "Mecha Golem No. 5")[2] is a object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a combat walker designed by the Battle Kukku Empire, and a upgraded version of the Mecha Golem.

The Mecha Golem (5-gou) is a dark purple battle mech with two short legs, and a long extendable arm composed of spheres on its right side. The Mecha Golem (5-gou) has space in its center for a Pilot Combatant to sit, in addition to having a slit for the pilot to see through. The Mecha Golem (5-gou) also has a gray pointed "nose".

Features and traits

The Mecha Golem (5-gou) features a deadly extendable arm which can generate bombs.

Tails Adventure

In Tails Adventure, the Mecha Golem (5-gou) was piloted by a Pilot Combatant, and stationed in a hidden room of Cavern Island. However, Tails eventually found the room, and defeated the Mecha Golem (5-gou) and its pilot.

In the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics, the Mole Mech is an huge single-pilot-operated battle robot of Battle Bird Armada built by Dr. Fukurokov. The Mole Mech successfully caught Antoine and Bunnie D'Coolette for intruding on the Battle Fortress's storage bay. However, Tails along with his T-Pup manage to defeat it.

After working his way through the submarine labyrinth of the island, Tails come across a dark, secluded cave hosting one of the invading Battle Kukku Empire's most heavily armored combat mechs. As a bulbous purple battlesuit, the Mecha Golem (5-gou) waddles backwards and forwards, periodically lashing out at Tails with its extensible arm and dislodging rocks from the cave roof.

The player should simply dodge the attacks and batter the mech with bombs. As the player deals more damage, the faceplate blows off, exposing the bedraggled Pilot Combatant. Further application of explosives destroys the machine and rewards Tails with the Anti-air Missile for his Sea Fox submarine.

If the player returns to Cavern Island later in the game, they can still find the pile of scrap which was the Mecha Golem (5-gou) on the floor of the boss cave in perpetuity.
