This is the transcript of the Sonic X episode, "Mean Machines".

[Scene: Station Square]

[Various animals from Sonic's world can be seen travelling through Station Square. Sonic runs up a skyscraper and stands atop it. Seeing what is going on in the park below, he runs down the skyscraper. Kids are running while copying Sonic’s running pose. People are sleeping in trees like Sonic. Others have styled their hair spiky and dyed it blue to look like Sonic's quills. One person lays out colorful stones in the shape of Sonic's head. Another person displays badges with pictures of Sonic’s face on them. Yet another fan is carving miniature, wooden figurines of Sonic. Sonic runs into the park and looks around. A woman looks up from her Sonic painting, notices Sonic, and points at him.]
Woman 1: Look, everybody!
Woman 2: Oh, wow! Sonic's here!
Girl: I can’t believe he’s this close to me!
[Everyone in the park stares at Sonic and talks excitedly with smiles on their faces. They all stampede towards Sonic screaming. Sonic gets scared and waves his arms defensively.]
Sonic: Ah! Calm down, will ya?
[Sonic flees and the people run after him, still screaming.]

[The opening theme plays.]

[Scene Change: Thorndyke industries building]

[Nelson is typing on a computer. His employee Suzy walks in.]
Suzy: Good morning, Mr. Thorndyke.
Nelson: Good morning, Suzy.
Suzy: Those documents I mentioned are ready for you, if you have the time.
Nelson: Ah. Just leave them right here, please.
Suzy: Yes, sir.
[She snaps her fingers, and five men walk in carrying huge stacks of papers. They lay them on the table. Nelson looks at the papers.]
Nelson: Hey, what is all this stuff, Suzy?
[The men leave. She places a clipboard on top of one of the stacks.]
Suzy: Apparently our home appliance division has been absolutely flooded with customer complaint forms.
Nelson: Are you kidding me? This can't be! Why, we've hardly ever received any complaints about our products before. How could this have happened now?
Suzy: I think you'd better watch this.
[She turns on a TV, which shows Scarlet Garcia covering the Freedom Movement story.]
Scarlet: Sonic's popularity seems to be affecting people throughout the city in all sorts of amazing ways. From groups of children playing "catch the hedgehog" to adults sleeping on rooftops like their hero, Sonic's fame seems to be reaching astonishing proportions. In fact, a large number of citizens are leaving their jobs in order to follow their idol. From Station Square Park, I'm Scarlet Garcia, SSTV News.
[Suzy turns off the TV. A laughing Nelson walks up next to her.]
Nelson: I knew Sonic was famous, but that's ridiculous! [laughs] Uh... But what does all this have to do with those complaints, Suzy?
Suzy: As you know, many of our employees are wild about Sonic too.
Nelson: [Smiles and nods] Mm-hmm.
Suzy: Well, some of them have left the company and started Sonic fan clubs, and most of the assembly line workers spend so much time talking about Sonic that their work has become shoddy. And now our customers are complaining like crazy!
[Nelson puts his hands on the sides of his head and screams]
Suzy: If this keeps up, we might have to go out of business.
Nelson: I'm not losing Thorndyke Industries over some silly hedgehog!
[The phone rings, and Nelson answers it.]
Nelson: [On phone] Thorndyke here. [Alarmed] What is it? What's the matter, Ella?

[Scene Change: Thorndyke Mansion - Chris' room]

Ella: [On phone] I just thought you should know that I kept Chris home from school today because he has a snuffle in his nose.
Chris: It's no big deal, Dad. I'm totally fine.
Ella: [On phone] I'm giving him plenty of fresh orange juice, and he'll have a nice big bowl of my homemade chicken soup for lunch. If he gets some rest, I'm sure he'll be better in a day or so.

[Scene Change: Thorndyke Industries]

[Nelson is clearly anxious.]
Nelson: [On phone] But what if he gets worse? I'm leaving the office right now. Just tell Chris to sit tight.
[He hangs up.]
Nelson: Suzy, get my helicopter ready immediately.
Suzy: What's wrong, Mr. Thorndyke?
Nelson: My sone may be gravely ill. I've got to get home right away before it's too late!
[He runs to the door, but stops.]
Nelson: Suzy, get Ed from home appliances in here and tell him I want these complaints taken care of by the end of the day!
[Nelson runs out of the room.]

[Scene Change]

[Lindsey is filming a movie involving her driving a motorcycle. A camera car drives alongside her. Nelson’s helicopter arrives on scene.]
Director: Hey, what's that helicopter doing up there?
[Lindsey stops the motorcycle as the helicopter descends. They communicate by cell phone.]
Lindsey: [On phone] I hope this is important. I'm in the middle of a scene!
Nelson: [Over phone] I'm sorry, Lindsey, but we've got an emergency!
Lindsey: Emergency?
[The chopper drops a rope ladder. Lindsey runs towards it and grabs on. The cameraman continues filming.]
Director: Hey... What about me?
[The helicopter flies away.]

[Scene Change: Eggman's prison]

[Eggman is working like a machine as Decoe and Bocoe give him appliances to refurbish.]
Dr. Eggman: Hurry, hurry...
Decoe: Yes, Doctor.
Dr. Eggman: Next!
Decoe: Yes, Doctor!
Dr. Eggman: Hurry, hurry!
Decoe: Yes, Doctor!
Dr. Eggman: Hurry, hurry, hurry!
Decoe: Yes, Doctor!
Dr. Eggman: Hurry!
[Bocoe loads a truck with the furniture so fast that it falls out and buries him. He races back to Eggman.]
Bocoe: Please slow down, Doctor! I cannot keep up!
[Eggman refurbishes Bocoe.]
Bocoe: Whoa! Watch it! That tickles! But I do not need to be fixed! Scratch that! Decoe!
[Decoe enters]
Decoe: Aren't you getting a bit carried away, Doctor? He is a robot, not a refrigerator!
Dr. Eggman: You think this is all a joke, eh? Well... do you see this? Huh? Huh?! You know who's to blame for this heap of lemons here?
[He produces a newspaper filled with Sonic-related headlines.]
Dr. Eggman: That perky, little pest, that's who! Because of him, every fatheaded fool in every factory is spending less time on the job and more time lollygagging and dillydallying. That means I fritter away my genius slaving away in a prison sweatshop fixing all their blunders! And I have that horrible, heinous hedgehog to thank for it!
Decoe: But if it is all Sonic's fault, why do we have to do the dirty work?
Bocoe: Dirty work is right. I almost got flattened by a falling fridge!
[Decoe nods]
Dr. Eggman: Don't you worry. For I have developed an exceptionally egg-cellent plan to get revenge!
Decoe: I hate it when he does that "egg" thing.
Bocoe: Me too...
[Eggman grabs his two hench-bots by the shoulders.]
Dr. Eggman: Now pay attention, and I'll show you my greatest stroke of genius yet! How's this!
[Heholds up a tiny chip.]
Bocoe: Oh! What is it?
Dr. Eggman: It's the end of Sonic the Hedgehog!
[He laughs. Soon, truck after truck pulls out of the facility.]

[Scene Change: Thorndyke Mansion - Outside]

[One such truck is parked outside the mansion. Tanaka is filling out a form after receiving a vacuum cleaner.]
Deliveryman: No tip? Lousy butler...
[The deliveryman leaves. Tanaka examines the vacuum.]

[Scene Change: Thorndyke Mansion - Living Room]

[Tails, Amy, Cream, Cheese, Vanilla, Chuck, and Emerl are gathered in the living room, some enjoying tea. Ella enters with dessert.]
Chuck: Well, how's our little patient feeling, Ella?
[Ella sets the dessert down on the table.]
Ella: Right now, he's taking a nice long nap. I'm sure the rest will do him lots of good.
Chuck: Wonderful.
[Tanaka enters with the vacuum.]
Tanaka: Good news, Ella. Your vacuum cleaner just came back from the repair shop.
Ella: Ah, welcome home, my little amigo! I hate to say it, but Mr. Thorndyke's company doesn't make the good products the way they used to. They're always breaking.
Chuck: Please forgive me, Ella. I would have fixed it for you myself, but mainly I've been spending all my spare time trying to figure out what's wrong with Emerl.
Ella: Oh, sure. I understand, Mr. Thorndyke.
Cream: Is Emerl feeling sick too?
Cheese: Chao?
Chuck: Yes. When I examined him yesterday, I found that all his program data had been erased somehow.
[Amy looks at Emerl.]
Amy: Poor Emerl...
Cream: Maybe I can take care of Emerl like Ella takes care of Chris.
Cheese: Chao-chao!
Vanilla: That's very thoughtful of you, Cream.
[Just then they hear the sound of a helicopter. Everyone runs outside to see Nelson and Lindsey emerging from it. They wave.]

[Scene Change: Thorndyke Mansion - Chris' room]

[Everyone now gathers in Chris' room.]
Chris: Why are... they here?
Nelson: How are you feeling, buddy? I heard you were sick, so I rushed right home--
Lindsey: I'm here, baby.
[They hug Chris.]
Chuck: Don't you think you're overreacting? It's just the common cold. Everyone gets them.
Nelson: Yes, I know, but whern I heard, I just couldn't keep my mind on my work.
Lindsey: Same here.
Chuck: [Upset] NELSON! You're impossible! Don't you see? What kind of example are you giving your son, abandoning your workplace just because of a harmless little cold?
Nelson: But Dad, I just wanted to--
Chuck: Don't you "But Dad" me, Mr. Big Shot goof-off! How irresponsible can you get?!
Nelson: Now listen here, Dad! If I want to take a day off to visit my son when he's got a disease, it's nobody's business but mine!
Chuck: If I were you, I couldn't afford to take time off! Not when every product you make goes off the assembly line straight into the junk shop!
Nelson: I'll have you know the real reason behind those bad appliances is your friend Sonic!
Chuck: How dare you put the blame on Sonic! Can't you even take responsibility for your own incompetence?!
Chris: Everybody stop yelling!
[They stop and look at Chris.]
Lindsey: Darling...
Nelson: Sorry about that, big guy. Guess we got a little carried away there.
Chris: Is this what you came home for? To argue? If you care about me, you have a funny way of showing it!
[The others are surprised.]
Chuck: Sorry...
[Little do they know that, in the living room, the vacuum cleaner assembles itself, moves over to the TV, and attaches a chip to it. It then proceeds to attach chips to various house appliances.]

[Scene Change: Thorndyke Mansion - Entry]

[Everyone except Chris are now at the top of the double stairs. Chuck and Nelson are snubbing each other.]
Ella: Chris didn't mean what he said. It's just a reaction to the antibiotics. Ahh, I just had the most wonderful idea. I'll make his favorite cherry pie. One big bite of that and he'll be smiling from ear to ear.
Lindsey: How marvelous! A pie! Let's all pitch in and make it together, huh?
[But the tension between Nelson and Chuck shows no signs of letting up. The camera zooms in on Emerl.]

[Scene Change: Thorndyke Mansion - Kitchen]

[Everyone is now in the kitchen, prepared to make a cherry pie. Lindsey is now in her normal outfit. Chuck and Nelson are still ignoring each other.]
Ella: All right, everybody, let's get started.
Lindsey: Let's. It looks like we've got everything we need. Everything except the cherries.
[She walks over to the fridge and tugs on the door, but to no avail.]
Lindsey: It won't budge.
Ella: That's strange.
[Ella and Lindsey together try to open the fridge. Suddenly the hand mixer automatically whirs to life and floats into the air. It sports evil red eyes.]
Nelson: Watch out!
[The mixer speeds towards Ella and Lindsey. Nelson tackles them out of the way right before it crashes through the fridge, shocking everyone.]
Chuck: I can't believe what I'm seeing.
[The hand mixer breaks out of the fridge and speeds back towards Nelson. Suddenly Sonic runs in and destroys the mixer. Emerl's eyes glow white as it scans Sonic. “SKILL COPY” appears in its visual screen.]
Sonic: All right! Now that's what I call mixing it up! I just beat the beater!
[The fridge doors burst open, and it launches its contents at the others.]
Amy: Just leave these to me!
[She hammers the food away from Sonic.]
Sonic: Nice work, Amy.
[The fridge gains red eyes and lumbers into the room.]
Amy: Freaky freezer!
[She hammers the fridge into the wall, breaking it. ]

[Scene Change: Thorndyke Mansion - Chris' room]

[A robot fusion of two vacuum cleaners, the TV, and the blender roves menacingly toward Chris, who cowers in the corner. The robot, known as Gatyameca, extends one of its vacuum hands toward Chris. Suddenly Emerl spins through the window and destroys Gatyameca.]
Chris: Thanks, Sonic!
[Sonic runs into the room.]
Sonic: Chris!
Chris: Huh?
[Chris walks over to Emerl, surprised that he saved him and not Sonic.]
Chris: How'd you learn to do that?
Sonic: Do what, Chris?
Chris: Emerl spun around like you do when you go real fast.
Sonic: You're kiddin' me!
[Suddenly Gatyameca reassembles and rights itself. Sonic and Emerl simultaneously use homing attacks on Gatyameca, ultimately destroying it.]
Chris: Hey, good job, you guys! You got him!
[Various other appliances move into the room. Sonic destroys one of the robots. The resulting explosion activates the automatic sprinklers. Sonic cringes at the water as it soaks the robots. Their eyes disappear, and they fall over. Nelson and Lindsey run in, followed by Chuck, Tanaka, Ella, Tails, Amy, Cream, and Cheese.]
Nelson & Lindsey: Chris!
[She and Nelson bends down to his level.]
Lindsey: Are you all right, my darling?
Chris: Sure, Mom. The water stopped them.
Chuck: Those sprinklers came on just in time. But I have a bad feeling we haven't seen the last of these monsters.
Sonic: Eggman must be behind this.
Chuck: If we don't act fast, this city could be headed for a catastrophe!
[Chaos ensues in the town as the appliances chase crowds and destroy cars.]
Chris: But now that we know water can short-circuit them, maybe we could stop them!
Lindsey: That's right.
[It is revealed that the appliances have turned off the water.]
Nelson: Oh no! They've done it! They've gone and shut off the water supply!
Sonic: That's my cue, kids. Gotta run.
[He leaps through the hole that Emerl came in through.]
Chris: Sonic!
Nelson: I'm going too.
[Everyone looks at him in surprise.]
Lindsey: What?
Nelson: My company distributes every drop of water in this city. Customer service is what Thorndyke Industries is all about. I won't let my customers down any longer.
Chuck: I'm proud of you, Nelson. [To Tails and Amy] Fire up the X-Tornado and take my son wherever he wants to go.
Tails & Amy: Roger!
[They and Nelson run out of the room.]
Chris: Mom, can I--
Lindsey: No, dear. I can't let you go with them.
Chris: But Mom...
Lindsey: You're staying in bed. Now let's get you out of those wet pajamas. [Calling] Ella, how about some hot chocolate?
Ella: [Off-screen] Coming up!

[Scene Change: Eggman's prison]

[A prison guard walks by Eggman's cell. As soon as he passes, Eggman, Decoe, and Bocoe, who were pretending to be sleeping, suddenly gather around the table to play poker, using nails as chips. Decoe wins the game.]
Decoe: Yippee! I won! I won!
[This infuriates Eggman]
Decoe: Eheheh, I can't imagine how I can keep crushing you, Doctor...
Dr. Eggman: If you keep winning, I can imagine crushing you.
[Suddenly a piece of the ceiling cracks loose and falls on Decoe.]
Bocoe: Look, Doctor. It happened sooner than you thought it would.
Dr. Eggman: How lucky!
[It is revealed that it is Bokkun that broke through the roof.]
Bokkun: Come on! This is the break you've been waiting for!
[He parks the Eggmobile right above the hole. Soon, the jailbreak is a success, and Eggman and his hench-bots take off in the Eggmobile.]
Decoe: I don't get it. Why didn't we escape sooner?
Dr. Eggman: Quiet! My genius is too great for you to understand. Just you wait, Sonic. My appalling appliances aren't through with you!

[Scene Change: Station Square]

[Sonic races into town and kicks two appliance robots aside. He then barrels through several robots surrounding a group of people.]
Sonic: Water stops 'em, so get your hands on some H2O and let it flow!
Person: We knew we could count on you, Sonic!
Sonic: Soak it to 'em, guys!
[Sonic runs into a fire station and tells the fire chief about the robots.]
Fire Chief: I got firefighters in every part of this city, and trucks are on the lookout. We'll blast those bad boys 'til they're good and soggy!
Sonic: Thanks, Captain.
[Upon leaving the fire station, Sonic sees Knuckles taking on a group of robots on his own.]
Sonic: Yo, Knuckles!
[The echidna looks up to see Sonic break through the barricade and stop at his side. They manage to hold the appliances back.]
Knuckles: Well, it's about time. I'm getting attacked by everything but the kitchen sink.
Sonic: Too bad usin' our fists isn't gonna work for long. Water's all that really works on 'em. The firefighters are on their way. You and I'll have to do our best to fight 'em back in the meantime.
[Upon hearing the sound of familiar laughter, Sonic looks up to see Eggman, Bocoe, Decoe, and Bokkun.]
Dr. Eggman: Well, Sonic. I must commend you and your valiant efforts to annihilate my army of attacking appliances, but I'm afraid my menacing machines are still on the march.
[The Eggmobile broadcasts a signal across the city, and all electronic devices surround Sonic and Knuckles. Meanwhile the fire crews are working to contain the appliances.]
Firefighter 1: Somebody must have cut down the main supply. We're losin' water pressure by the minute.
Firefighter 2: Get on the horn to the water bureau right away!

[Scene Change: The water reservoir]

[The X-Tornado lands outside the reservoir, and Nelson, Tails, and Amy climb out. As expected, two appliance robots lumber out of the building. Amy draws her hammer.]
Amy: Okay!
[After she destroys the robots, the three run inside the building and up to the reservoir control area. After Nelson taps a few buttons, several lights light up.]
Tails: It looks okay!
Nelson: Well, the water supply system itself had been restored, but I'm afraid that somethimg must be jamming the main sluice gate. Whatever it is must be blocking toe flow of water.
Amy: Is there any way you can fix it?
Nelson: There's only one way, Amy, but it's not going to be easy.
[He picks up his cell phone.]

[Scene Change: Thorndyke Mansion - Living room]

[Everyone is now in the living room.]
Chuck: [On phone] What's happening, Son?
Nelson: [Over phone] Well, I was able to restore the main supply system, but there seems to be something in the way of the sluice gate, so the water isn't getting out. We've got to get that gate open, and fast!
Chuck: [On phone] I'll take care of it.
[Soon, Lindsey and Chris watch from the balcony as Tanaka and Chuck board Nelson’s helicopter.]
Chris: Mom, can't I please go too?
Lindsey: Now, Chris--
Chris: Mom, please let me! Honest, I already feel a lot better! C'mon, I promise I'll be okay!
[Lindsey feels Chris' forehead.]
Lindsey: Well, if you really truly want to go, I'll let you, but under one condition: I'm coming along with you, okay?
Chris: Sure it's okay!

[Scene Change: Station Square]

[The appliance robots continue to fight their way towards Sonic and Knuckles, who show signs of fatigue.]
Dr. Eggman: Heheheh! When battling a washing machine, one can't be wishy-washy! My, these modern household conveniences certainly aren't inconvenient, aren't they, Sonic?
[He laughs heartily.]
Decoe: Hey Bocoe, they sure do look worn out, don't they?
Bocoe: You can say that again. A part of me feels bad for them. ...But I can always have that part removed, I suppose.
Bokkun: Whoa, just look at 'em! They're really mangling whose machines!
Sonic: Man, I'm runnin' out of steam...
Knuckles: I can't keep this up much longer...

[Scene Change: The Station Square dam]

[The helicopter lands and Chris, Tanaka, Lindsey, and Chuck disembark.]
Chuck: Listen up. The main sluice gate's been destroyed for good, which means our only choice is to open up this valve. All right now, everybody get into position.
[The four of them pull on the valve with all their might, but to no avail. The X-Tornado approaches to land.]
Chris: Here comes Dad!
[The X-Tornado lands, and Tails, Amy, and Nelson disembark and approach the others.]
Nelson: What are you doing here, Son? Shouldn't you be at home in bed?
Chris: I had to come and help. It's my responsibility.
Nelson: That's my boy.
Lindsey: We've got work to do, darling.
Nelson: Right.
[With the added help, they are finally able to turn the valve and raise the gate, releasing the water.]
Chris: We did it! We did it!
[He and Lindsey hug. Nelson joins in.]
Nelson: Good job, dear!
Lindsey: Oh, darling!
[Chuck and Tanaka fist bump. Tails and Amy high-five.]
Amy & Tails: Yeah!

[Scene Change: Station Square]

[With the water restored, Sonic and Knuckles take hoses to the appliance robots. Finally, the last of the robots spark and fall over.]
Sonic: Well, I guess that does it.
Knuckles: Yeah.
Dr. Eggman: Impossible! I could have sworn we cut off the water supply!
Decoe: Someone must have turned it back on, Doctor!
Bocoe: Looks like your plan is a washout, Doctor.
Dr. Eggman: And just when we were this close to stopping Sonic once and for all!
Bokkun: I thought he was a goner, but he sure showed us, didn't he?
Decoe: Well, what is the plan?
Bocoe: Yeah, Doctor, what do we do now?
Dr. Eggman: On to the next strategy!
[The Eggmobile takes off.]
Bokkun: Wait for me, will ya? Come on, you guys, wait up!
[He follows, and the villains are out of sight.]

[Scene Change: The Station Square dam]

Chris: Well, what do we do now? We've got a city full of defective dishwashers and mashed-up microwaves.
Nelson: If I stay on the job, cleanup should be a piece of cake.
Chris: How about pie?
[They share a laugh. The episode ends and the credits roll.]
