Maurizio Merluzzo is an Italian voice actor who has done voice work for the Italian dub of the Sonic the Hedgehog series,[1] the Sonic Boom series[2] and the Sonic the Hedgehog film series.[3] He works at Merak Film, and other dubbing studios in Italy. He is also a famous Italian Youtuber known for the web series Cotto e Frullato.
Biography[]
Merluzzo began playing Sonic Mega Drive videogames at his cousin's home and during high school years. Knuckles the Echidna (nicknamed "Red Sonic" by him) and generally "tough guys" are his favorite characters. In summer 2011 he was called to an audition supervised by two Japanese Sega employees and after being chosen for the role of the red echidna, he felt "over the moon".[1]
