Maria Robotnik is a character that is mentioned in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. She was the Light Mobius counterpart of Maria Robotnik.
History[]
Life and death[]
Maria's past was most likely largely the same as her Mobius Prime counterpart's. The point of divergence was when Shadow the Hedgehog became corrupt during his struggle for world peace in Maria's memory.[1]
Legacy[]
With the advent of King Shadow to power, he made Maria a symbol of worship for her people, constructing a statue of her donning angelic wings in the city of Portal.[1] He also had a similar statue made and placed above his throne.[2]
Shadow would later monologue as if he was talking directly to Maria, saying that he would make sure he would lead the world to the peace she desired for them.[3]
Relationships[]
Shadow the Hedgehog[]
Maria likely became friends with Shadow shortly after his creation. She meant a great deal to Shadow, who later made her a symbol of worship, erecting a statue of her in Portal. Shadow also tried to honor her last wish by bringing peace to the world by unleashing Tikhaos, although he did more harm than good in his methods.
