When you see some flying enemies that you can use your homing attack on, jump on them one after the other to grab a Red Star Ring. Use the booster on the ground to shoot forward and launch across a gap to the ground and grab the Wisps Capsule to start boosting forward.
Right next to the previous Red Star Ring, you can find another one on a collapsing platform. There will be a bumper next to it that you can use to get back up to the top level after gathering it. If you linger on the platform for too long, it will drop and you'll lose a life. Doing a double jump to gather the Red Star Ring and falling onto the bumper is the safest way to avoid dropping into the pit.
If you take the top path during the 2D section, you'll come across a platform with a giant structure in the foreground. You won't be able to see Sonic behind the structure, but you can gather another Red Star Ring when you run through it. Youโll smash through enemies, objects, and more capsules to keep running forward. Guide yourself into enemies as you boost to keep the meter filled so you run through everything.
While running through enemies in this section, you'll notice a group of flying enemies on the side. It's easy to miss when you're running fast, but if you take a second to look to the right side, you'll see the enemies you can use your homing attack on to go to a different platform. Follow the path there and you'll reach another tunnel with a Red Star Ring and a large number of rings you can gather. There will be boosters on the ground you can run through to continue speeding through the level. Eventually youโll run and launch upward, where you'll see more floating enemies you can use your homing attack on to cross a gap. Do so and move towards the ground and boost forward into another group of capsules that will help you speed ahead and smash through another group of enemies.
Eventually youโll launch over a gap to a rail you can grind on, the middle rail will have a red ring booster you can jump through to grab a Red Star Ring.
