Lost Valley is the second world in Sonic Speed Simulator. This world is a re-imagination of Lost Valley from Sonic Forces. It can be unlocked after the playable character buys the world for 100,000 Rings. The second questline is located here, which is used to unlock Knuckles the Echidna as a playable character. The Zone currently features events which can be completed to unlock Shadow the Hedgehog and Hologram Metal Sonic as playable characters.

With the Reborn update, a new, larger version of Lost Valley was designed and the original map was removed from the game. However, in the Space Colony Ark update, the original version was secretly re-added as "Lost Valley Classic," the portal hidden in the current Lost Valley inside a cave located aside a blue ring, and requires 50,000,000 Rings and 150 Team Mastery

Description[]

Lost Valley is an overall peaceful landscape with block-based brown mountains in the background and a lightly clouded blue sky. Like its original incarnation, this world features many blocky hills in all manner of sizes and complex arrangements. A few pieces of the land are also covered in green-striped grass (including on loops), and the visible soil itself is covered in checkerboard patterns in different shades of brown, yellow and beige. There are also a couple of wooden scaffolds, such as platforms and footbridges, in various heights.

Lost Valley's most dominated feature however, is the scorching sand covering the entire landscape, giving the world the appearance of a desert; the only green in this world besides the sparse grass patches are the portals to Green Hill and Emerald Hill. There are as well two ramps and purple stones. Also, in addition to features like sand falls instead of waterfalls, the landscape features sparse and dry vegetation along the roads, such as dry grass making up roads across the landscape, tall palm trees, and pointy-leaved red bushes. Inside Lost Valley is the massive Arsenal Pyramid, and outside of the boundaries of Lost Valley, the player can spot a massive and dusty, mass-produced Death Egg Robot

Outside of the entry area, Lost Valley is much more open in comparison to Green Hill. However, its paths are less visible here due to the dried grass paths blending more in with the sand. The best paths are highlighted by strings of Chaos Orbs and Rings. Near the first Sky Ring is also a portal that leads to the Emerald Hill.

Gameplay[]

Lost Valley is an open and free-roaming level with plenty of Spinners and Burrowbots throughout. While there are a few loops here, there are also broken versions of these level structures as well. There are also Grind Rails here, although these gimmicks are placed so high up in Lost Valley's upper sections that reaching them require expert navigation and knowledge of the world's platforms and structures. However, there are Springs in Lost Valley that the player can use to reach the Grind Rails. There are also rock formations around Lost Valley in the shape of ramps that can launch the playable character into midair if they run off them fast enough.

Lost Valley is littered with Chaos Orbs and Rings that the player can collect. These objects are aligned along the roads in Lost Valley. There are also Sky Rings in Lost Valley for obtaining additional Experience Points.

In some parts of Lost Valley are Orbot, and Vanilla that can explain the gameplay and its aspects to the player. These NPCs activate automatically when the playable character approaches them and will display their explanations in the form of text balloons above them. This world has Giant Ring portals to both Green Hill and Emerald Hill. Lost Valley also has 3 Time Trials, where the player tries to race through a pre-designed path around the level for rewards.

In 1.0, Lone Ring vaults would also appear in some places, from which Rings can be collected from once in a while within a certain period of time.

In 2.0, the Friend and Trail vending machines are all in one place unlike 1.0. Instead, Red Star Rings and Music Notes are scattered across the level. Red Star Rings give the player 10 of them when found, and Music Notes unlock a song in the Music Player. Lost Valley also has an Auto Run feature, which requires Level 50, but makes the player run a lap around the world without needing to input anything.

Overview[]

For a player to enter Lost Valley, they must first have their character acquire all 6 Lost Valley Gate Keys, this can be achieved by completing the quests in Green Hill. Once that has been done, head into the Lost Valley portal in Green Hill, and press and hold the Q button to unlock the map.

Upon arriving in Lost Valley, the player will find two of the Lost Valley Time Trials, as well as Knuckles' Quests. Behind the playable character is the massive Arsenal Pyramid, and 2 giant rings, one leading to Green Hill, and the other leading to Emerald Hill.

Trivia[]

Portals

The hidden portals, from Sonic Speed Simulator.

  • In 1.0, there were three inaccessible portals behind one of the walls in Lost Valley, with two of them saying "Lost Valley" and one saying "Lost Valley Obby 1". The last one has no icon and is unknown where it will lead as only Green Hill contains its own obbies.
  • Emerald Hill Obby, while being removed during the Reborn update, returned during the "Legit Event" for April Fools 2024, under the name "Somewhere Else"** 5 Cardboard Cutout Chao were also hidden across Lost Valley during this Event, one of which was out of bounds.
  • A purchasable Spirit Chao for 99 Robux was added out of bounds in Lost Valley behind the Arsenal Pyramid.
