The Long Hammer (ロングハンマー , Ronguhanmā ? is an optional Level Up Item for Amy Rose in Sonic Adventure Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut
Description The Long Hammer is a larger and different-colored version of the Piko Piko Hammer . Instead of the head being yellow and red, the Long Hammer's faces are green, with the midsection being purple and decorated with blue squares. The handle is also a metal bar and the shaft is purple. When obtained, it increases the attack range of Amy's different Hammer Attacks , especially her Spin Hammer Attack .
Location This Level Up Item is located within the Egg Carrier . It can be obtained after gaining the Warrior Feather . After the Egg Carrier crashes in Amy's story, the player must return to the Egg Carrier and enter the room where the Warrior Feather was obtained.
To obtain the Long Hammer, the player must play the mini-game which granted the Warrior Feather again, but this time beat the 3000 points record. The game is Hedgehog Hammer , which is a parody of the Whack-a-mole game, except there are three dolls: a blue doll (Sonic ) that gives 100 points, a yellow doll (Super Sonic ) that gives 500 points, and a Robotnik doll that takes away 200 points. After clearing the mini game, Amy will be awarded with the Long Hammer.
Trivia The Long Hammer is one of the two Level Up Items from Sonic Adventure and its remake that are not found lying on the ground surrounded in green light, but given automatically after clearing an event, the other one being the Warrior Feather . This makes Amy the only character whose Level Up Items are not found by picking them up. Gallery
