Little Rex is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It is a type of Dark Gaia Creature that was formed by Dark Gaia during the night.
Appearance[]
The Little Rexes are small creatures that mostly resemble a cross between a bulldog and a Tyrannosaurus rex. They have stubby legs, tiny arms, spikes on their backs, a small horn on their snouts and rather large heads with jaws that are large in comparison to their bodies. They also emit purple smoke.

Shattered World Crisis[]
Act One[]
Little Rexes were formed by Dark Gaia's energies shortly after the planet broke apart at the dawn of the Shattered World Crisis. Many of these Little Rexes would terrorize Westopolis at night, though they would be stopped in time by G.U.N. and local law enforcement.[1]

One night, when Coral the Betta was unable to perform the Mystic Melody properly and raise the city's shield, many Little Rexes, alongside other Dark Gaia Creatures, attacked Meropis. They would be met with the opposition of Sonic the Hedgehog and his allies, including the Meropis City Guard.[2] Eventually, Coral successfully performed the Mystic Melody with the help of Pearly the Manta Ray and Tikal, which produced a beam of light that destroyed the remaining Little Rexes.[3]
During nighttime on Isolated Island, many Little Rexes and other Dark Gaia Creatures attacked Miles "Tails" Prower and Big the Cat. However, after Dr. Ellidy regained control of his Badniks, they would drive the monsters away.[4] Several Little Rexes would later attack Apotos at night, only to be stopped by Sonic the Werehog and Antoine D'Coolette.[5]
Act Two[]
When Dark Gaia emerged, all remaining Little Rexes on the planet were drawn back into the massive creature.[6]
Powers and abilities[]
Though they are not very strong, Little Rexes have a sharp bite and they are seemingly capable of aquatic respiration. They also utilize Dark Gaia energy.
