Both the gene and the protein may also be found notated alternatively as "Shh".[citation needed] The name was devised by Dr. Robert Riddle, who was a postdoctoral fellow at the Tabin Lab, after he saw a Sonic comic his daughter had brought from England.[citation needed]
Robotnikinin	Science, biochemistry	Dr. Eggman	A potential inhibitor of the Hedgehog signaling pathway has been found and dubbed 'Robotnikinin', in honour of Sonic The Hedgehog's nemesis, Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik.[citation needed]
The Mysterious Sonic Statue	Culture	Sonic	A statue that once belonged to a SegaWorld theme park until the park went out of business. It was sold off and brought by local farmers and industrialist and propped on the side of the road between the trees. While it had stood there for 10-15 years it was not until 2015 when bike enthusiast 250moriyuki reported it on twitter and brought it attention to general public. The statue was later restored by the family that owns it.

Smosh Games "SAN FRAN SCAVENGER HUNT GOES SONIC BOOM! (Bonus)" (7 December 2014)	YouTube	Team Sonic	In this video, the Smosh Games Crew are invited to Sega Studios in San Francisco. While there, they come across a broom closet that is locked by a palm scanner. David Moss hits the scanner, which unlocks it. They then see the inside of the room, which has Team Sonic fighting a giant robot. Amy flatly asks "These guys again? Activate that button!", Sonic then runs over to it and sends them out.
Effingham Magazine's 2022 Annual Veterans/First Responder issue (2022)	Magazine, lifestyle	Sonic	The annual Veterans & First Responders issue part of a lifestyle magazine Effingham Magazine, published bi-monthly for the communities of Effingham County, Ga. Sonic the Hedgehog makes an appearance in the cover of magazine's annual issue, as saluting Effingham's veterans and first responders. The magazine cover has been illustrated by Tracy Yardley.

Discord	Social Media	Sonic's shoes	A pair of sneakers, that is identical to Sonic's shoes, appears as an icon for whenever someone wants to kick a user from a server.
Discord	Social Media	Sonic's shoes / Power Sneakers	A pair of snekers, very similar in apperance to Sonic's shoes or the Power Sneakers, appeared in Discord's April Fools "Lootboxes" alongside other pop culture refrences. Their name is also likely a refrence to the Power Sneakers ability to speed up the player when obtained.
Bahama Bucks			For a limited time, customers could get Sonic and Shadow themed snow cones, with a special spoon of Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, or Shadow.	The snow cones.
Kamala Harris Launches Her Campaign for President	Culture/Political Advertisment	Death Egg Robot	In the advertisement, a child is depicted to have a Sonic the Hedgehog themed room, whilst playing with a Lego Death Egg Robot and another Sonic-related Lego set.
The Bluebell Railway	Meet and Greet	Sonic	The Bluebell Railway, founded in 1960, was the first preserved steam railway line for standard gauge sized engines, located in the English County of West Sussex, England. Sonic will make special appearances at the Bluebell Railway on both February 15th and 16th at Sheffield Park Station, where visitors can meet and take pictures with Sonic.
Hololive Production	Social Media	Shadow	The pose for Crimzon Ruze's official 3D render, for official use such as marketing or promotional purposes, is a reference to one of Shadow's 3D renders for Sonic Dream Team, as Ruze admits to being a fan of the franchise. In an official stream where the render was first shown as an acrylic stand merchandise, Ruze describes the merchandise as "This is the ultimate acylic stand and definitely not a spiky rodent", referencing one of Shadow's lines in Sonic Adventure 2.
