Voice acting

Her reception with Sonic fans is mostly positive. Like most of the 4Kids actors, Ortiz started off a with mixed reaction, but eventually gained a highly positive reception for her role as Amy Rose. Fans have praised her performance for being youthful, energetic, and showing emotion perfectly (especially when Amy gets angry or shows her feelings for Sonic) as opposed to Jennifer Douillard, whom many fans claimed had no emotion in her voice, and in comparison to Cindy Robinson, whose high pitched performance has gained a lot of negative reception until her depiction in the Sonic Boom series.

  • Ortiz credits her entry into voice acting to one of her brothers, who stole her car. During the search for it, she was accompanied by an animator for anime distributor Central Park Media, who let slip that the company was looking for voice actors. Ortiz went in and auditioned, landing the role of Deedlit in Lodoss.[citation needed]
  • Ortiz attended Otakon in 1998 and 2011.
  • Ortiz attended the CN Expo in 1998 and 1999.
  • Amy Rose was one of her favorite roles to do voice work for.[citation needed]
