The Limbo Dimension,[1] also known as the Fourth-and-a-Half Dimension[2] and the dimensions between worlds,[3] is a location that appears in Sonic the Comic series published by Fleetway Editions. It is the space between several worlds and dimensions. The Ring of Eternity can sent chosen individuals through the Limbo Dimension, allowing them to access anywhere in time and space.[4]

Description

During its many appearances, the Limbo Dimension has taken on several appearances. On the majority of occasions, it vaguely resembles space, with many visible planets and stars. However, often, it is differentiated by abstract swirls and patterns found in the Special Zone. At other times, the space is completely unusual and may be a simple block of color.

Shortfuse the Cybernik noted that the Limbo Dimension was "weird" and that things did not seem "right".[1]

History

Amy Rose and Tekno the Canary were two heroes chosen by the Ring of Eternity to save problems throughout the universe.[4] They used the Limbo Dimension to arrive at each destination, floating uncontrollably. The girls would then materialize at the next goal, before dematerializing again back into the Limbo Dimension.[5][6][7][8][9][3][10][11][12][13][2][14][15]

Thanks to the Ring of Eternity, Amy followed Sonic the Hedgehog to Shanazar via the Limbo Dimension.[16] The dimension was also shown at times when the Ring of Eternity was adapted to visit the New Zones and Earth.[17][18][19][1]
