— Elec Man, Sonic the Hedgehog #251

The Light Robot Masters is a group that appears in the Mega Man comic series, and in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs, published by Archie Comics. They are a group of Robot Masters created by Dr. Light on Earth in the year 20XX in another Zone. They include his robotic "children" Mega Man, Proto Man, and Roll. They often work in opposition to Dr. Wily and his Robot Masters.

Worlds Collide

After Dr. Light's creation, Blues, ended up in the service of Dr. Wily, he wound up battling against Mega Man, Cut Man, Guts Man, and Bomb Man. Blues, known as Break Man at the time, easily defeated his brothers, only to turn away from the battle when Mega Man begged him to leave his Integrated Circuit intact for Dr. Light's sake. All five were then hit by the Genesis Wave fired off by Wily and Dr. Eggman.[1]

Altered world

The altered reality created by the Genesis Wave found the Light Robot Masters contending with Wily and Eggman's alliance and their Robot Master Army, though the villainous doctors would also use the properties of the Skull Egg Zone to Time-Clone some of the Light Robot Masters―namely Concrete Man, Tornado Man, Splash Woman, Plug Man, Jewel Man, Hornet Man, Magma Man and Galaxy Man―from when they had been reprogrammed to serve Wily. When Mega Man and Sonic the Hedgehog battled after being tricked by Copy Robot and Metal Sonic, Mega Man called in the support units-Rush, Tango, Eddie, and Beat-to aid him in the fight.[2] Once the two heroes discovered the deception, they contended with the evil doctors aboard their warship, the Wily Egg, the others-minus Roll, who remained behind on Earth-joined Sonic's allies in battling the army. Thanks to their arrival, Proto Man was able to break away from the battle along with Knuckles the Echidna, Dr. Light, and Rush to assist Mega Man and Sonic. Subsequently, the Light Robot Masters were returned to their proper places in time and place after Super Armor Mega Man reversed the effects of the Super Genesis Wave.[3]

After Mega Man's use of Chaos Control to restore his world, he along with Bomb Man, Guts Man and Cut Man ended up where they were before the Genesis Wave hit. They were also restored to full function.[4]

Worlds Unite

The Light Robot Masters later joined forces to help rebuild Light Labs after an attack from Dr. Wily, with Concrete Man joining the original line in the construction effort.[5] Later, after Mega Man disappeared and Sonic Man began attacking Mega City, the original line was deployed to try and stop him.[6] Unfortunately, Sonic Man proved too powerful for them to defeat, and Dr. Light was forced to call in a number of reformed Wily Robot Masters and Quake Woman in an effort to defeat the villain.[7] Eventually these events would be erased from history, returning the Light Robot Masters to their place at Light Labs with no memories of the battles.[8]
