The Light Core (ライトコア , Raitokoa ? is an object that appears in Sonic the Hedgehog (2006)Action Gauge .
Description Light Cores are small and glowing crystalline orbs which can fill up a small part of the Action Gauge , akin to the Chaos Drive , but less. They are released from enemies such as Iblis ' minions, shadows , and Mephiles's monstrous form once they are destroyed, after which they are instantly absorbed by the playable character. Light Cores are usually orange, but can also be green as seen in Town Mission and some Action Stages like Aquatic Base and Wave Ocean .
Supposedly, Light Cores were founded and researched by the Soleanna company, Rimlight , in hopes for developing a cleaner energy.
