License

License is a virtual document card, imitating a real world Driver's License, seen in Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing and Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. The License is a card given to the player by default, stating the achievements and badges the player has earned in both games and can be upgraded. The License, by default, has the players Gamer Tag/Console name/Steam name scripted on it.

Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing

In Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing, a license is obtained by default and upgrades through the SEGA Miles upgrade system. SEGA Miles are basically virtual coins earned after the end of each race, depending on the miles crossed during the race and are used to upgrade the license through ranks of Blue to Gold. The chart below shows the points system:

The license in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed functions differently from the previous game, now focusing on achievements which are represented by Stickers. The license's rank will increase as more stickers are unlocked, starting at rank C and ending at rank S. Up to three stickers can be displayed on a player's license, which can be seen by other players when playing online.
