A Lever, from the Wii/PlayStation 2 version of Sonic Unleashed.

The Lever is a long metal handle attached to the inside of a metal box that it can pivot on. These metal boxes usually have a light on the front and have rounded corners.

Overview[]

In the Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 version and Wii/PlayStation 2 version of Sonic Unleashed, Levers can only be found in the game's nighttime acts, where they are usually placed either in the open or inside small rooms. In gameplay, the Levers are used to operate machines and Doors that are needed to progress with the act the player is currently playing. When pulling a lever, it will it trigger a reaction in the nearby environment that allows the player to progress, such a opening a Door that was previously blocking the path or make a platform move in a pattern that allows the player to reach a previously unreachable path.

To utilize a Lever in gameplay, the player first has to stand in front of it with Sonic the Werehog, who can turn it with brute strength alone (in the Wii/PlayStation 2 version, Sonic glows while doing this). Once approached, the player has to do the following action until the Lever is turned:
